Road tax in Spain

The 'excess' I was referring to is the excess insurance payment you are required to pay in the case of an accident (irrespective of fault) some hire firms insurance policies state you pay the first part of any claim. This could by hundred of Euros. These hire car companies then charge you extra to reduce, or exclude, this liability.

The payment requested by the car hire firm at the desk isn't included in Doyouspains price, nor any other companies. But it is an optional charge, some companies counter staff try to insist that this payment is compulsary.

Car hire firms are going like low cost airlines, they advertise the lowest price they can (from the back of a van?), and then charge for all the hidden extras when you come to pay (or have an accident)

Hi Mooma, no I don't have annual insurance. I know what you mean about wishing your life away, I seem to be constantly on the computer looking for flights (for next year!)

When we come over we pre-book via Record.  Having a very tall husband - 2 metres - we have to make sure that we get a good upgrade for him - and they have never let us down on that score.

Never had any other problems, so we stick with them!  They send us monthly offers, via the computer, but we're not out there enough times to make good use of them.

They may not be the cheapest - we did a price comparison at the beginning - but to be honest we don't check now.  All that we worry about is that we're fully insured for all eventualities.

thanks for your input abbbb1, but I am confused.

My understanding is that this is a development forum for owners on La Matanza. Do people join any development forum they feel like, I thought that was what the general forum was for? It feels like being spyed on by people who have got nothing to do with the development.

Putting your fatuous comments to one side, the thread is for people hiring a car to travel to La Matanza, but you knew that didn't you?

Sorry Brian but does it really matter who goes on what thread.
abbbb1 has just tried to give some info on car hire to help people out, some people might find it helpful.
I can't believe someone could be so rude,  your comment about being spied on makes you sound so childish.
Don't want to fall out with you Brian as we are neighbours, but I almost feel embarrassed for you.

Sorry you feel like that John, and unfortunately I do take offence at your comments. I would have preferred a private messsage but you have chosen to put your opinions on a thread for everyone to see. 

There are development forums for owners and the General Forum for anyone. My question was "why people would join a development forum when they have got nothing to do with it". You cannot just post on development forums you have to actively join it. 

Plus in my first response I thanked abbbb1 for their comments before asking the question. Something both of you have chosen to ignore.


  

Hello 141.  I have to agree with you & also, these development forums are not just for those who own on them. Anyone can join in & contribute, should they want & abbbb1 did just that, as did Morerosado in the wealth tax thread. You were darnright rude about Morerosado in here too. I saw what you wrote prior to you editing around five times. What is with you ? Live & let live.

Listen Brian, I am sorry you feel that way. Maybe abbbb1 would have preferred a private message with your views and opinions instead of an open thread for everyone to see. Maybe the internet and message boards are not for someone who is obviously so concerned with privacy. Surely, any POSITIVE comments should be welcome wherever they come from. It is not for us to police the site and say who can and cannot contribute.  I'll leave it there and look forward to continuing to read  threads and learn more about our places in the sun.
