We are new on this site but have been keeping up to date reading it regularly .Only just got round to getting involved. Just wondered if anyone knows where we can purchase a gas bbq and how do we get a gas bottle?? Have been told this can be a bit of a problem as you need some sort of licence.

You can buy a Gas Barbeque from most places - Bricohouse, Leroy Merlin or even major super mercardos.

Licence for gas bottle - ask for how to obtain it when buying BBQ.  Or pop into a petrol station and ask them for the telephone no. to ring, the bottle will be delivered along with the licence.  Once licence obtained, just phone the supplier of gas bottles to deliver as and when required.

Sorry meant to reply sooner but Ellen beat me to it, you will have to buy the regulator seperately, we bought our's at Brico House where we bought the BBQ. Other ideas for the gas bottle, it was suggested to me that you try and find one in a second hand shop. Other alternative, if you buy the BBQ at the potshop, the woman might sell yopu the gas bottle. Don't try it if the husband is there he definately won't. Saying that we're arranging for the gas bottle and contract to be delivered when we're next out.

Many thanks for the advice guys. Been mulling it over and we have decided to go with a more traditional BBQ with real coal! Dont think you can beat the chard taste of somat done over an open fire. Where are all those suckling pigs.....

 
                  Don't blame you, i must admit I wonder if it's worth all the hassle, but OH loves his gadgets and at kleast this way he doesn't have to clean the coals out.  Looking forward to my first taste of suckling pig...................
