Question for Georgia (or anyone else that can answer)

On one of the off plan forums I follow a member has posted your response to another member about contents insurance. The member was Formenteracosta and I can't find them in the search (sure i've seen them posting somewhere ), so am assuming they are regstered another forum.

Your reply stated that your buildings insurance should be covered by the community as you can't insure individual properties in a block. Is that correct? If so, why is it that insurance companies are happily taking premiums for rebuild of individual units in a block (apart from te fact tey are thieving gits)? Also, it is a part of the mortgage requirements that rebuild costs are covered by insurance which the lender wants to see proof of and insists on being placed as beneficiary in the policy.
