You will need a Surge Protector on your valuable electric/electronic equipment in Spain. For that matter, anyone reading this in the UK, then they should also do the same.
You can buy 4-gang and 6-gang extension blocks with Surge Protectors built-in, and they cost about £8.00 here in the UK, just put one UK/Spain plug converter on the plug of the extension lead, and plug it into the mains. Then plug your say TV, DVD, Sat system and game system into the extension lead.
The same applies to you computer and monitor, printer, etc. However, when we move to Spain, I am bringing with me my Uninterruptable Power Supply unit (UPS), which my computer and monitor plug into. It is a good idea to use one of these, as if the power fails, which it does quite often in Spain, for seemingly no reason at all, then you have time to shut down the computer.
