Caleta de Fuste in Fuerteventura

The town of Caleta de Fuste can be found on the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. It is located in the municipality of Antigua, Las Palmas, Spain. The town has many hotels, cafes, restaurants, shops, boutiques, bars which are located by the beach or on it. You will find that Caleta de Fuste is mainly located around a castle near the main harbour. This castle was originally built as a martello tower by Claudio de Lisne who was a military engineer in 1743.

Caleta de FusteCaleta de Fuste is considered to be one of Fuerteventura's busiest resort areas. The town of Caleta de Fuste is known as Castillo. The shape of this town is horseshoe shaped. You will be able to see the gently sloping man made beaches which are covered by imported golden sands. The island's airport is about 6 miles from Caleta de Fuste. This resort city is one which attracts numerous visitors to its doors. Along with the resort hotels, the beach and the fun activities that you can engage in while you are here, there are numerous activities in the city and its surroundings which are well worth looking into.

As you venture into town you will notice that Caleta de Fuste consists of a long main street along which you can see many restaurants and bars housed in low-rise buildings. These facilities will provide you with enough opportunities to enjoy mingling with locals and other tourists alike. In addition to mingling you may want to check out some fun activities that you can take part in. These will include windsurfing, sailing, and scuba exploration, diving as well as simply walking or running along the beach coast.

In between lazing on the beach you may want to check out the ocean waters as these waters are known to invite lovely marine animals to them. These lovely animals are the gentle turtle population and the friendly dolphins' schools. Other than sunbathing, animal watching and having fun with the various sporting activities you will find there is a weekly trade fair which takes place in Caleta de Fuste. At this trade fair you will be able to get some great deals on well made leather goods.

Speaking of sports if you are a golfer you will find that Caleta de Fuste is also a place for you to enjoy yourself. Here you will find the Championship Golf Course. This is just one of the two golf courses that you will find in Fuerteventura. Besides golf you will find there are other places to visit while you are staying in Caleta de Fuste. These will include places like the Oasis de Los Camellos Zoo and Puerto del Rosario which is on the western side of the island. This town was once called Puerto de Cabras or goat harbour. Today you may find that the goats in the town outnumber people.
