Hi,

I wonder if someone can give me some info on broadband. Have recently bought a flat on Mallorca (Son Caliu near Palma Nova) and am wondering if Broadband is easily installed. I'm currently living in Sweden and here it's common for the whole apartment block to have it installed and then it's up to each flat to choose if they want it or not. Bit I don't think it works that way there does it? If it's not in the building is it easy to get it as an individual flat, or does the whole building have to agree to it?

Broadband isn't a communal facility, it's an individual thing.  It just depends if the phone company has capacity to supply you.  There are still areas where there are no available phone lines or broadband.

Not sure in your area but you'd need to phone Telefonica/ Movistar and find out. I'm sure it will be fine. In Spain you can call them on 1004 (not sure what their international number is).  You can then contract your own phone line along with your own phone line.

Some communities have installed communal WiFi hotspots but I don't know that many that have gone down this route.
