Looking for work

 Hi

My name is Ann, I came over to live in Spain in September.  I love the Spainish way of life and don't want to return back to the UK.

I am looking for work, I have lots of experience from Care Work, Publican to Office Manager.  I will consider any work that is available within a 10km distance of Los Montesinos.  Please, please help

Hi Ann - I don´t want to be negative but there is very little work here, and it is much worse in the winter when many of the bars and restaurants cut their staff to the minimum.

If you get all the local english language papers, you will see that most of the jobs on offer are commission only sales jobs.  To take anything like this you will need to register for Social Security which is around 270€ per month, whether you are making money or not. 

Hopefully there will be lots of jobs created by the new shopping centre in La Zenia which is due to open next year.  However, you will need to speak some Spanish and I also think you would need your own transport to get from Los Montesinos.

If you are really desperate, there are ads in the local press for care jobs in the UK, where you would do so many weeks on and so many off, allowing you to spend time in both countries.  I don´t know anyone who has done this, but the ads are in all the papers just now.
