Has anyone got a feeling as to when the grass, trees etc will be planted, i.e. will they do it phase by phase or only when the whole site is complete? I really can`t imagine they would expect people who move into the earlier phases to live on a building site.....or would they.

Also, when we `ordered` our house on Ph 5 we chose blue with white detail but when I asked the office about this they said it could be any colour, as the architect has to consider the overall effect....makes you wonder if anything they tell you has an iota of substance!!

Hi Roger, we are on phase 1 and when we decided to buy we were told from the start that we would not get a choice of colour and that the builders made that decision. It would seem that they were just saying anything to get you to sign! Lynn.

You're  right -  not one iota.  We were told from the start you couldn't choose the colour or style much to my pestering them. When we asked to have a bigger water boiler at extra cost to us that wasn't possible either.  Still they all look good whatever the colour.

The Process of planting trees and shrubs has already started on the hillside park area and is already looking good.

With reference to a larger capacity water heater; The showhouse is fitted with a gas water heater and I believe all houses are to be fitted with them so there is no need for a large capacity heater as water is instantaneously heater at the time you require it.

A large capacity Gas tank has been fitted in the car par area next to the pine forest, I believe the gas will be supplied by Endesa the same company that supply the Electricty supply.

We were told on purchasing the house (did not think I had such a good memory ) that it would be all electric nogas at all, do you know for definate that we are going to have gas water heaters.  By the way if they plant all the trees and shrubs now it will be a wild forest by the time we move in on Phase 7

Hi,
To the best of my knowledge all houses will be fitted with gas water heaters, these are fitted above the position of the Washing Machine and sink unit outside the kitchen door.
This is the only gas point, none are pre-installed within the house. I would have thought that if people required gas hobs etc then this supply could be extended at a later date by your own
contractors.

The main Supply Gas Tank if fitted under ground in the area of the Pine Forest and Childrens Play Area. The Tank has an ENDESA sign on it so I assume it is they who will be supplying all
our energy requirements with GALASA supplying water & TELEFONICA, telecommunications.

I will check with the relevant personel at the site office to ensure my information is correct and post a reply if not.

With regard to the Trees etc, the road opposite Delpins running north towards phase 1 is the area that has been planted with Palm trees and the hillside formed into a pleasant park area with lighting which will
hopefully add to the security of the urbanization.

Hi Roger

We are flying out on the 17th can not wait , taking the whole family as I think they dont believe we have a property in San Juan. So yes It would be great to have a cervesa with you. As long as it will be one payment for conection (gas & electric ) I will live with gas as well. But you have to agree it looks like we are going to have a great place when it is complete, Sea, Sun, Golf, Bars, restaurants, Fishing what more do you need. If you can think of more I am sure it will be there In San Juan.

Hi Roger, Stella, Miguelcarr, Carole & Martin and all,

We hope to be in SanJuan around 14-21 Oct so hope to meet up with any of you who are around to say
hello and lay the dust.

Regarding the recent enquiries about bank guarantee renewals, ours ran out in March, and repeated
pestering of Peinsa and abogado has resulted in availability of a renewal provided that we sign to
accept the new availability for our plot on Ph V (spring '09).

Good luck to the Phase 1+ punters who are on the verge!

Regards,
Grant & Lynne

Where would be a good place to meet up then? I reckon a good `starting` point could be the ice cream bar, (they sell drinks too) on the main drag, opposite CDP, just up a bit from the roundabout, Aguillas side, we call it `The Marble Bar` Just beware of the mad dog next door, I went to stroke it once & it chased me almost into the desert!! well to the next bar at least.

There may be some new bars that I don`t know about so any details would be appreciated, BTW is that little bar, owned by a Dutch guy stiil there, it was just off the main road, by the electrical shop & the butchers?

If anyone is interested please PM or email me & I`ll reply with my mobile number, also a bit nearer the time we could agree a definite time/date etc  My Email:  vectair@hotmail.com

Cheers

We were at the show house yesterday, we are buying on Phase 4 which should be ready October but we are being told they are likely to be earlier than that (we'll see)

She was telling me the pool and garden area between Phase 1 & 2 will be ready by the end of the month and they are hoping to fill the pool by the 25th. They seem to finish the garden and pool area for each phase as they release the phase. She said the only one that wouldn't be ready for completion is the garden at the side of phase 3.

There is now an English bar here, the Montesol, run by Ron. They have internet access, and good food. There is a strong english crowd already frequenting there on a regular basis. We found it on our 2nd day purely because I went in to use the internet. If you go from the little roundabout towards Aguilas, it's about 200 yards on the left hand side. It's been an english bar since about March. Quiz night on Wednesday includes a full sunday roast dinner - if it's not your thing, you don't need to go - but we have thoroughly enjoyed the quiz nights, they get busy some weeks so it's advisable to book.

We are amazed how many english people already live in San Juan, many more than we expected. We've only been here 3 weeks and have met so many, most who live here permanently, some who actually go back to the UK for the summer months because it's too hot here, and some who are just out a few times a year to use the properties they have bought.

We've live here for 3 weeks now and absolutely love it.

Hi

The dutch bar if I am correct is called Skippys, it is a nice place considering he is dutch ( if you have worked in holland you know what I mean ) he seems a nice bloke anyway. It may be best to arrange a meet nearer the time but looking forward to seeing you all especially you Jaqui as you will Know how the lifestyle is by then. We are on phase 7 so dont know our finish date so when they contact us we will nip each other to see if we are dreaming, well i'll nip Pam as she has got sharp nails and it hurts !!!
There has been a lot of photos lately, the place looks great makes us glad we stuck it out. well looking forward to seeing you all.

Forgot to mention that Alfonso the owner of Delfinos ( the icecream bar ) in my opinion sells the best Beer in San juan. According to our friends Ray and Ann who are also buying on CDP it is probably the best in the world,  Ann & Pam love the icecream as well !!!!

Confirmation from us, for those of us who will be trying to blend in to the Spanish way of life, Delfini served us a wonderful display of tapas, bread and coffee.  Certainly gets our vote!  In the words of Arnie "I'll be back"
