we have since discovered OVP retained almost half of our deposit - for their own commision and out of 80000E the developer only ever received 38000E. There has been conflict between both parties and this is one of the reasons for 5 year wait. developer has now agreed to drop the price to enable parties to proceed to completion (this covers the money the agent retained for themselves).
It seem this is the way the agent conducts their business generaly so can pretty much guartntee that this practice was conducted on other developerments.
latest communication from the agent blames the recent death of a business associate frollowing plane crash over Brazil for the problems - although when questioned their involvement with this individual -approx 12 months ago they flatly denied a connection with this person.
This whole experieince has caused us so much distress and upset.
recent information from several reliable sources suggests that the agent is in severe financil difficultly and - where cases have been won against them deposits are being paid back over long period of time in small installments.
