Hi Keri and Mark,

 Thanks So Much for replying..and

So very  pleased to meet you...we are in No 50..Carol and Danny...from Derby..so nearly neighbours. Fantastic to have an update. We are over for the week of May 3rd-10th...to get our NIE Numbers..and wanted to sign comtracts..&  complete at the same time.  However, we could not confirm  anything with Masa. The last we heard a few weeks ago..only some minor things were needed  to finish on our APT ..and a clean. But no further updates. Wonderful  news that it is all nearly completed.

It must be fantastic to see it all up and running..and people already moved in. The last photos posted...looked brilliant. We can't wait to get over and see. for ourselves.

My husband retires in  a year..and we hope to make this our permanent home eventually.  Once we have sorted our UK property..and our daughters. Are you buying for a holiday home... or permanent?  We really look forward to meeting soon.

Thank you so much for your update...and please keep in touch on the forum. Everyone on here is really friendly....and are going to make brilliant neighbours.

All the best, Carol & Danny

Hi

Mark and I are both in our mid 40s and have 3 children, 11, 13, and  20. We live in devon and intend at the moment to use the appartment as a holiday home and let friends and family use it, but saying that we are fed up of the uk and if schools etc seem right we may just pack up and move.

we are looking forward to meeting everyone and hope to visit in about 4 weeks ( hopefully after our furniture has been delivered).

We  seem a bit luckier on the info front as we brought direct from the builders and they have kept us informed all along as to what is happening and why.

thats it for now

Hi everyone,

Billy usually posts on this site but as he is in Spain at the moment, I thought I would update on info from him.  He tells me he is working hard getting everything ready when we go out in May for a holiday.

There have a been a couple of minor snagging things which have been sorted out.  Although the place has had a clean it still needed more cleaning, hard to get rid of the builders dust.  The moving in team from Masa have been really helpful as there were times when Billy's Spanish turned out to be 'double dutch'.

He has met with a few people, can't remember everyones' names but he has met with Donna and Andy who are also out there at the moment.

The whole development is looking really nice and it is so quiet and peaceful.  He tells me he has been workng hard but I can imagine a bit of work and a lot of siesta going on! (who could resist taking advantage of that lovely sunshine)

I hope Masa get in touch with with you soon Carol, I know the difficulties you have had with them and at this late stage it gets so frustrating when you are so close but it seems so far a way.

I'm sure Billy will give a more detailed update when he gets back home.

Take care everyone and hope to meet you all soon.

Janet

Hello Janet,

So good to hear from you..and that Billy is enjoying himself. It all sounds wonderful..I can't wait to see for myself. you must be so excited.

I am Very glad to hear that Masa have been helpful. But It seems Billy's knowledge of Spanish is one stage better than ours!...Which is non existant. I know you must miss him..and wish you were over there with him.. But it will be so nice for you to see it all ready and waiting..when you arrive. I am so very happy for you both.

We are waiting to hear from Masa..about the progress of our apt. Just after Easter..we Finally had a message confirming that we could proceed for our NIE numbers..on May 5th. which was a date we were fighting for ..for some time. .and could get no reply. We will fly out on the 3rd May..staying till the 10th. With our twin daughters age 23..and our son 25. They also sorted my passport..after talking with head office.

Thanks to Billy's kind assistance.

We have inquired about signing the contract while we are over for that week in May.. but they will not yet confirm. They said the last inspection..(march18) had shown a few minor things to complete. We haven't had any updates since then.

I am so glad he got to meet some of the other neighbours. I cannot imagine what it must be like to see the apts..with people and furniture. It is such a beautiful area..with the mountains all around and that lovely park.

I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to send a message..and to Billy ..who is working so hard!! (well maybe Not that hard!! LOl)  It has really made my day. Just wonderful to hear all the news.

I am so looking forward to meeting you both very soon.

All the best,

Carol & Danny No 50

Forget banning it in Spain - I've banned it at home for a long time! LOL

As Carol knows and I think most of the rest of you do by now  our furniture was collected for shipping from home this morning - Hooray!  Another big hurdle over.  We used Premier Movers who to-date have been fantastic -(I make no apology for this ad for them.    I first made contact this time last year, and they have kept in contact throughout that time, just gently in the background without being at all pushy.   Each time I've emailed with (yet another) query, they've got back to me asap and today (although I wasn't there as I did a runner into work!) Alan says they did a cracking job (we live up 20 odd steps so not easy for them) and I reckon their price was great.  They've taken over 80 boxes and items including a 3 seater leather settee and I reckon the cost is roughly the same as we'd have paid in Spain for a decent new leather sofa alone - Result!  By the way Donna, my guitar has gone out too, so relying on some cut-price guidance there - if it's only to shut me up.   (Anyone got any links for soundproofing the apartment?!)   LOL

We complete on 23rd - Can't wait.  Not sure if any of you are going to be out there then or not.  The only ones I know are going to be there (hopefully)  are Peter and Sue and they've  been booked to put up our lights (Katie-Plum (dog)  been booked for the entertainment).

Looking forward to a good knees up at some point (though thinking about it I promise to keep mine under cover whenever possible!)

Dil

Hi all,

Just got back last week from Mirador, weather was fantastic mid to upper 20's. The apartments look perfect. We had a few hectic days with purchasing the furniture from Ikea, but with a great deal of help from our agents we managed to get all we needed. Had  a couple of small problems but with the guys still being on site got them fixed straight away. Was a real drag to leave, just when we started to relax.

Had a few drinks on the Saturday night with our agents, Donna & Andy our immediate neighbours and also Nigel & Jo, Billy was around but he was very busy getting the apartment ready for his family. From my view its going to be quite a friendly community.

Heard from our agents that the pool will be filled May/June, with the builders accepting total responsibilty for the upkeep of the pool until we have our commitee installed, apparently this is very unusual.

We are back there in early July, the children cant wait to use the pool, we cant wait to relax, have a glass of wine and meet more of our neighbours.

Good luck to the rest of you who are completing soon, ours went without a hitch thanks to our friends at Pure Property and our solicitor.

Ian, Jill, Louisa & Hannah

Hi Ian & Jill & family - brilliant and congratulations.  Been on pins waiting to hear how the latest round of completions has gone.  We're due to complete on 23rd so on countdown now - suitcases packed with the essentials: kettle, glasses, mugs, plates and screwdrivers!   Furniture due on 24th so fingers crossed.

Re upkeep of pool etc.  We were told that Mahersol have responsibility for  upkeep of pool, gardens etc for the first year and then we take over from there.   Perhaps it will become clearer soon.

Did you have any problems with the actual moving in - such as getting the furniture into the site or up the stairs etc?  I'm a bit worried about our settee turning at the top of the staircase.  How many men do you reckon it would take to pull it up and over the solarium?!! LOL

Looking forward to meeting everyone very soon.

Dil

Hey Ian, Jill, and Girls..

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!  Fantastic to hear all the details..and have an update. I have been thinking of all you over in spain...and wondering how things have gone. It is great that all  the EOS Group have come together..and met face to face. All lovely people for sure.

I Would love to see a photo of  how things look. If you have any to post. Your agent just sounds absolutely brilliant. I so wish we had known about them and dealt with them. We have had really  appalling after sale from Masa. They haven't done a single thing for us in my opinion...they. don't even answer our Emails.

We are over on May 3rd to 10th to get our NIEs...Finally...The builders say it is now all done.  Even Masa said it was only missing a couple minor things..a month ago. The builders have informed  Masa ..but they have still not made an appointment for us at the notary during this visit in 19 days.  They want us to keep on waiting..until the next update..and may even have to make yet another trip over to complete.  It just makes no sense. with so many people whos' apts were far behind ours..already moved in..with no incidents. And With the Euro still rising....if we don't complete soon..it is going to spell catastrophe for us.

But Once again.., thank you so much for posting..and sharing this great moving-in experience with us. It must have been an amazing time....seeing all your furniture go in..And staying overnight the first time.  I am so pleased to hear about the pool being filled as well ..that will be wonderful.  I do thinK  that Grupo Mahersol have proved themselves to be First Class... Any contact I have with them..has met with an immediate response.  Here's Wishing you, Jill and the girls.. every happiness in your new home.  We look forward to meeting in the summer. All the Best, Carol & Danny No 50

no problems moving in, just have to park as close to the main gate, hope its not too hot and take your time. As long as your funiture is'nt  too big you should be able to negotiate all the corners. Have some chilled drinks ready and waiting for when you finish, you'll need them.

Hi again everyone..

Thanks Ian for describing how the furniture situation works. I was wondering how it all got up the narrow stairs..etc. It Seems strange preparing for it to be be too hot.  After winter in the UK. Althugh it is lovely & sunny here in Derby the past few days. I am also glad the parking wasn't an issue either. that also crossed my mind as more people move in.

I  do think it is fair..that I should post an update about Masa... ..having just spoken with our Personal Assistant on the phone. I insulted them a bit in my last message. I decided no more Emails..and in speaking to her directly...she was very helpful ....and  very understanding of our plight in the end. However still convinced that our Apt is not ready..and we should not rush. As it would not be in our interest. I agree it must all be finished.

She did pencil  us in for a completion date of May 7th..but only on the understanding...that after the next inspeciton..of April 23rd. . the Apt is truly completed. It had not progressed  from the last inspection. Our wardrobe..and sink still missing.

We can, however,  sort all the other issues in preparation...see the bank..and the solicitor.. get our mortgage in place. So that is a huge step forward.  And we are very pleased.

Danny & I are hoping to be joining everyone very soon...and look forward to sharing a drink with everyone on our solarium.   Cheers, Carol & Danny  No 50

Hi Jo, James and Girls...so glad to hear that Baby Hope is doing well and will be traveling to Spain with all the family. It will be a big help to have your dad along. But good news you already have your NIE. We are just approaching that obstacle. . If you go in June..that will actually be a good time.as everything will be finished completely on the development.  And up and running. So no worries.

We are facing a similiar situation to you. ..regarding Masa. We have had to chase for every bit of info..and sort every problem and  issue ourselves. Our PA on the phone was lovely..but I shouldn't have to Telephone ..after 3 Emails go amiss.. And the reply is she was on holiday. Someone should take over. And still..I am told not to worry... there is plenty of time.  No need to complete this trip or push things.. but there is a financial worry for us. A big one.

if we had another option, we would take our time... but we can't afford to keep coming back & forth. The next chance will be around August.and I don't think they are eager to wait that long. Or know what our true situation will be then.  I appreciate..they want everything in the Apt. up to standard..to protect themselves..(and Us)   but it certainly must be close enough now...to being ready.

We also are facing major finance problems with the Euro.  Our Uk  house still needs to be sold. ..Two daughters need to move out.. And Danny hadf planned to be finished working and move permanently to Spain..as of August. .So his work is ending very shortly...So Not much Pressure on us! LOl

But when it all works out. As I am sure it will. Mirador is going to be lovely..and a really nice place to live.  And all of these troubles and tribulations..involved with moving.. will be but passing memories for us all.  Cheers for now.. Carol & Danny

Have just posted a few photos of recent trip.  Janet- there's a lovely one of Billy with your keys!  For us, the whole process went well, although three trips to Ikea in eight days must warrant a mention in the Guiness Book of Records!  We have been thrilled not only with the property, but also with the warmth and friendliness of others also completing at the same time.  I have the name and email address of a friend in Cox, who is an estate agent.  He's very willing to help with any questions people have out there.  Email me if you'd like it.

Hasta luego,

Donna

Hi Donna and Andy,     Congratulations..And Welcome Back!!

It is fantastic to hear all of your news....and I am  so glad that everything went so well. ( Despite 3 trips to Ikea! )  The photos are just wonderful.. Thank you so much for posting them. Great to see Billy for the first time...  And... How fantastic to see you sat on your  very own solarium. It must feel absolutely amazing.  it rreally is so good to  be able to see how things will look.

Andy seems pretty happy with his lunch in the Spanish sun as well.. What a wonderful life it portrays. I am so happy for you both. And judging by the chats on EOS..we are certianly going to have  lovely neighbours. I look forward to meeting everyone very soon.

i have done a bit of ranting  over  Masa..but they must be listening..as they are now starting to move things forward for us..and make contact. again. It is fair to say they had inspected the property last week..But...our wardrobe was still not fitted..and a few other things. They have planned another inspection for next week..and if  these have been put right...and the apt is properly finished..then we will be able to sign during our May visit..in 2 weeks. I agree I would like to see things complete..and having spoken with Mahersol..they  have said it will be ready. so time will tell.  Thanks once more for the brilliant photos..made my day.!

All the Best,

Caol & Danny No 50

That was worth waking up to!   Maybe a bit too early to see sexy knees like those though! LOL  How did you get that bruise Andy?  Hope it wasn't Donna kicking you into action!

We've shipped out quite a lot of flat packed so please keep those allan keys handy incase we can't find ours!

Like your choice of wine too - I know Mahersol are great, but did they provide that?!

Can't wait to meet everyone next week (23rd D Day).

Thanks for the update and particularly the photos - keep them coming folks.

Dil

Hi everyone

It was really good to see the photos, Billy looks so pleased with himself getting the keys at last, just wish I could have been there with him.  He was exhausted by the time he returned home but it was with a feeling of satisfaction.  He was really impressed with the whole development and so pleased to have met everyone who was there and like you Donna thought everyone was really friendly and helpful.

Sorry we don't have any photos to post, he forgot to take the camera.  How could he!!

It 's only 3 weeks until we go over and I can't wait, I'm so excited to see the place and all the work he has done to get it ready.
I will definately remember the camera!

Hope to meet with you when we are out.

Janet
