quick email to let you know i am out (myself)on 2nd april to move in/ recieve keys to property.all furniture etc /air con on 5th april,work hard  at mirador doing all works required then back home. out for proper holiday with family on the 8th may for some R&R.

Hi Billie and Family,

Fantastic news....How exciting...I was just getting ready to put a message..and ask how everyone is getting on. It has been so quiet lately. What a brilliant result.

We are still in Limbo..as Masa will not comment.  I had a flight arranged for May 3rd..We still need our NIE numbers...but no one would confirm this date was Ok.  My son & Daughter are also on the mortgage..and had arranged work off as well...To get their NIE. So We are disappointed in how they are dealing with things..But they are doing another inspection tomorrow..and hope they will update us.

Please keep us posted on all the coming days events.. it is so good to hear from you. We wish you every happiness in your new home.

Congratulations Billy and Janet - Envious, but hopefully we're only five weeks behind you.  It's so exciting but very nerve wrecking at the same time.   We were out for the first week in March and we met Peter and Sue who had already moved in.  We then asked Mahersol if they could see their way to completing on ours for 23 April (as we'd already booked flights back last November when completion was still end of December) and I think they (along with solicitors and agents) are coming up trumps.  Whilst there, we organised our NIE's, opened a bank account in Cox (with a manager who speaks not a word of English (nor Welsh LOL) but were saved by our Parador rep who spoke Spanish and English perfectly,(no Welsh, but just as well, as we don't either!!)  We also organised Spanish wills - not made British ones yet but thinking priorities here!!        We've ordered some furniture (new and second hand - the latter found completely by accident at a store in Torrevieja, run by Eastenders who've been out there for 30 years+ - cash only -  Mainly buying goods from Brits who've changed their minds and returning home.)    Anyway, some reasonable buys to be had. If anyone wants details let me know.

Pool Carol and Danny are having their problems with Masa, but if everyone does another sun dance on the count of 3  .................... uno, dos, tres - I'm sure things will work out for them too.

We're out next on 22 April - anyone out there going to be visiting at the same time? - would love to meet up.  We're going to have a good community going I'm sure.

Hi again

Our agent is also Masa and haven't had any real problems getting info from them.  When we were out in Jan. we thought the property wasn't far away from being complete.  We insisted with Masa and the builder that we would be out in April/beg May and had the funds ready to complete.  So they have done as we asked.  (sometimes a bit of pressure works wonders)

Planning to have the majority of the furniture and air con sorted when I am out in April.  Leaving the finer details to Janet when she is out in May! 

We also had a call from Mahersol 2 weeks ago asking us about the white goods for the kitchen so assumed that the property was about ready then.  We got our snagging list 2 weeks ago and contacted the builder rather than Masa to ensure it would be done and it has been.  Masa wanted to wait a couple of weeks for snagging to get done then get back in touch, but you know how impatient we are all getting at this point!

I will be out 2nd to 13th April then both of us and our youngest daughter Sarah (25) from the 8th - 22nd May, so looking forward to some sunshine and hopefully meeting some of our neighbours.

just missed out metting you dil/alan in april,sure we will some time soon.

Yes, good news indeed Stuart - and very good luck.  We are going to miss you again on this trip as we return on 26th.  As far as I know we are still on target for completion on 23rd - fingers firmly crossed. 

We've decided to ship a half load out from UK so been busy buying curtains, bedding and some flat pack stuff in readiness.  We'd shopped around in Spain beginning of March and although ordered the big stuff then, we've bought a lot of stuff here and will ship out.  I think, on balance, we've probably done about 50-50. 

By the way, if any of you are shipping out, I know it's early days to judge them, but I think we are going to use Premier Movers whom I contacted about a year ago now, and they have been very professional, attentive with follow ups, but not pushy.  Impressed so far - watch this space!

HAPPY EASTER..to Everyone. Hope you are all enjoying yourselves.. despite the crazy weather.

We Spoke with the management of MASA on Friday in the Uk.. surprisingly someone was at work.  I had an almost immediate response from my agent. Who phoned from spain..and  promised us that things will be dealt with on Tuesday. And they will, hopefully, confirm our travel date.    We will then be able  to get our NIE numbers..and  soon be catching up to the rest of you.

If all goes well..we will be over from May 3rd to the 10th.

Look forward to hearing from everyone over the next weeks..and how things progress.

Hi everyone,

we have been informed that we will be completing on 1st April, is that a good call or what. Its another public holiday in Spain on Monday otherwise we would have been completing then, whatever, the time has arrive. We took a gamble a couple of months ago and booked flights for the 31st March so we will be there to complete and get our furniture in, good timing or luck ?

Really looking forward to getting away from this drab weather and realising our dream, will anyone else be out there from next Monday, we will be there hoping to meet our new neighbours.

Your dream is about to come true...   What  Brilliant news!   I am so happy for all of you. You must be so Over the Moon.  And fantastic  that your flights match up ..and the furniture delivery. Great call there.

 I do believe  that  Billy ...and  Donna and Andy..will  also be signing next week .  So hopefully, you will ALL run into each other.  Which would be fantastic to finally meet. your neighbours.

Please, if you get the chance..keep us posted.  It is wonderful to read all the updates..and see the progress. And it lets us know what is in store for us, hopefully. I am so eager to hear all the details ... and what the apts are really like once you have moved in.  I Hope  there is a chance that the pool might be ready for the girls. I know they are so looking forward to it.

Danny & I  have had an ongoing battle with Masa.. to even get an OK to come over in May. And that is for the necessary NIE numbers. Which we still don't have. Having been over in Feb...we were  not able to proceed.

 Our kids are involved as well..and  Early May was the only opportunity for all of us to travel together..  We knew so many people were completing in April..and saw the progress in Feb...so it seemed a very safe date. And we had the flights on hold. But no confirmation to proceed., Thankfully, after a call to head office last week .. We have a result ...and are booked for the 3rd of May..until the 10th.. But have still been told our apt has work to complete. so they will not confirm anything except getting our NIE  numbers at this point.

 It would mean yet another trip over.If it is not ready to sign. I have Emailed the builders..who have promised it wil be ready to complete.  so we have our fingers crossed for early May.

Congratulations to us all to have survived this past year!

My latest tally on completion is:

 Ian & Jill - 1 April; Billy & Janet 2nd April, ourselves (fingers firmly crossed as not received final confirmation yet) on 23 April;  and Stuart & Lynda 30th April.  Have we got any more to add to that list?

Can't wait to meet up with everyone.  Have only met Peter and Sue so far but once we all meet up we're having a party that's for sure.

Good luck with moving in, one and all.   Please keep us posted if you have chance.   BTW  Does anyone know whether we stand any chance of internet connection in Cox.  Alternatively, libraries in Spain usually have free access (appointment system) - do we have a library in Cox?

Hi Chris and Sonia,   More Good news..!

So Great to meet you.  We are Danny and Carol Godfrey No 50...just down from you. We love  No 42's location. Fantastic views.

We seem to have a few things in common. We have twin daughters age  23...Danielle works for the Job centre....and Michelle the courthouse. Our  son sam is  25...and also a PE teacher. His partner Sarah... is a PE and Dance teacher.  And they are expecting a baby in July.. and all the kids will be coming over for  regular visits.   We  also have a grandaughter Evie aged 4.  

  Our daughters..and their boyfriends..live at home with us.  And  my grandaughter  is often here as well....So we are desperate for some peace & quiet.     We love the mountains...and  can't wait to get over to Mirador. And have been told only a few minor things are needed to complete our apt. We only purchased in late NOv. so we can't complain..and also had them knock through the completed  wall in the kitchen to make more space. So that is one of the main holdups. But it was worth it.

We are over on the 3rd of May..for a week to get our NIE numbers... and hope to complete then. We plan to make it our permanent home within the year...( IF the kids can find aother home to go to.  LOL)   Keep in touch.. Best Wishes ...Carol & Danny

Re: Getting to know you .............  Great idea -  Here's my bunch:

Alan and I also have two 'children' - both grown up now:  Lauretta (Nanny) who is married to Alex, (Architect), and Leighton, in Marketing, who is 'courting' (can you use that word these days - it sounds so quaint). They all live in London but I'm sure once they've seen Mirador and Cox, they will love it too and will be wanting to visit often  (not too often though, we'll need some peace!!)   We have a grandaughter, Ava who we hope will be playing one day in the pool, but she's only 19 months at the moment!

That's our direct family, but I'm sure you'll get to meet the others in due course.
