There is a new british bar opening the end of may begining of june in the village.The bar will be doing a wide range of foods from spanish tapas , fried breakfasts, baguettes, baked potatoes, lunches and evening meals. There will also be a wide screen t.v for all football matches. Sounds good eh.

Hello Ian,
No it isn't my bar, i actually spoke to the people concerned and they told us all about it. The people who are opening the bar have actually been in the village for over a year now and have many spanish friends.
The feed back has been very good, from the british and spanish alike. The spanish that they have spoke to are going to use the bar as well. So hopefully it will be a nice addition to the village.

We are buying in San Cayetano as we wanted to get away from the Costa Blanca which has many British bars. We are disappointed that there will be an English bar in the village with wide screen football matches. Can't think of anything worse. The last thing I want is a football match on in the background when I am eating.
Might be your idea of fun Rosco, but not ours

i think it sounds a great place,you can go in any bar in the world,any theme,if the people are good and the welcome friendly it is agreat place to meet.i look forward to trying rosco,s mates bar and meeting ex pats,holidaymakers and spanish people and if theres a bit of footy on the box great,i bet corry and eastenders will get a bit of air time too,good luck.

We aree with the previous post,think it will be a good place to meet up,and no driving to be done either.We dont really follow football,but wouldnt it be good to watch England,if they did actually manage to qualify for a major tournament.Or why not follow Spains games in this years Euro 08,or follow the Alonso/Hamilton battle in the Grand Prix season.
Good luck to these people that are trying to succeed in a very competitive buisness,hope it all goes well lads.

Hi,
having had our quad for a year ( for holidays) and using the amenities of the village, I think it's great that someone is able to set up another business in San Cayetano. It will be another bar to be able to walk to, so we wish them every success. I'm sure there will be much more "passing trade" with the other phases on site being released. We have been to the spainsh bars in the village and always felt welcomed, the more choice the bettter.

Hi Everyone
Im all for more choice but for me it really bursts the bubble of the small, quaint spanish village idyl that I was expecting. It is exactly the place I would avoid.
Is it going to bring more outsiders in is it going to be a drinking den? If it were just a restaurant that wouldnt be so bad,
Sorry to have such a downer on the place but we had decided to sell our place so maybe I should keep my silly rantings to myself .

Good luck to the new owners of the bar in the village, I think its a great idea and very courageous of them,
If you dont like the idea of a bar showing the odd British game of football or other sport then dont go, there
will no doubt be a lot more going on than sport, its a true saying, You cant please all the people all the time

Hi All
Just a little update on the new Bar, it opens on Monday at 1800hrs- 1st drink Free - Free Buffet & Free Karaoke For both Spanish & English.
The bar will also offer full british pub fayre & also full british breakfasts,tapas and many other alternatives, also we offer wi-fi access,Sky tv,british newsapers,taxi service & also a book exchange.
Contrary to popular belief the bar is not for just the brits it,s for all.
We would love too see you all there for many great nights.

Sounds good we will be joining you for a drink on our next visit mid June .Where is the Bar situated please and is the wifi free for the customers (It may entertain our 15 year old whilst we get a drink & have a chat ). Wish you luck for Monday see you in a couple of weeks time.....Dave & Claire

The bar is where Joaquins old restaurant was if you dont know of it ,it's at the opposit end of the village from Tarray.
The wi-fi is at a cost of 1 alcoholic drink so if the kids want it you;ll have too have a drink ha ha.

Good luck with the bar, we hope it goes well for you...its all about choice and this now gives everyone in the Village a choice of where and what they want to eat and drink
