I have posted some more photos that our agents, Pure Property Group, have just sent us.

Ian Goodfellow who runs the company with his wife Vanessa are putting some financial deals together with regard to the falling euro. They have been working alongside some banks to find a solution so it might be worth contacting him if you want an idea of how they maybe can help certain individuals.

There website is www.Pure-PropertyGroup.com where there are details of how to contact them. Just to let you know that I have no involvement with them at all, other than buying the property through them. They have made the process for us buying our first property abroad so much easier than expected, and have been a major help all the way.

The photos show more aspects of the development, more of the internal paths and the pool. Not quite sure how the pool will look when finished, at the moment it looks as though it will be raised, I intend to find out from the builder in due course and will let you all know. One thing for sure the blue sky looks great !

Ian, Jill & girls

Hi Ian...

Once again thank you & Pure Property Group..for these brilliant photos. If only you knew how much they cheered me up on what has been a really bad few days.It was wonderful to see some really different outlooks.  The gated entrance..the paths between the buildings..and I loved the globe shaped lights on the walls at the back of  each property. It is going to be lovely.  I will look into the Euro situation with Pure...and say a big Thanks once again for sending this along for all of us to enjoy. .

All the Best..Carol & Danny Apt. No. 50

Yes, I'd like to add our thanks for those new pics.  If any of you had already read the first edition of this posting,  I apologise and I am now editing what I wrote.  When I saw the pics I was horrified to see what I assumed was the raised pool and I 'went off on one' as the saying goes!  Alan has now calmed me down and I realise that what I thought was a raised pool, is in fact the curved wall the opposite end to what my brain was telling me!  Although, I am still a little dissapointed regarding the amount of room (or rather lack of it) which appears to be around the pool area (I still doubt we'll get any sunbeds as shown in the artist's impression) and the garden areas don't look anything like as big, I'm not as worried as I was half hour ago when I thought that wall was the raised up pool!   Hope you all have a good weekend. Time for a glass of Vino Tinto!   Dil (18)

hi everyone.

just back sunday 27th jan from 2 weeks of glorious weather in spain, not a drop of rain, wall to wall sunshine,

site is coming along nicely(have pics post later)front row calle cadiz still has loads of work to be done but is rendered etc on the outside etc,the big crane is no more(gone)woopee as of friday, calle jaborneres is all but complete for fitting of sanitry ware, boiler and few other things, pathways are 50% completed and pool is now being done, plenty of bodies working at site the landscape areas are really nice and are all set out, just right for this small development in my opinion 5.30am rise one morning for the priveledge of queing at alicante to obtain  our n.i.e. certificates,at least thats done and out the way,you apply one day and obtain cert. after 1pm next day(agents charge 200 euros each for this service, not cheap)actual cost of the cert. is only 6.80euros bit of a rip off.

roll on completion, not long now(hopefully...)

cheers

Hi Billy & Janet,

Thanks so much for the update...I thought I remembered you were going over for a visit. We are booked to go in the half term..Feb.16th for a week.  We will be looking into furniture etc. Unfortunately we can't get our NIE during that time...as one of our children is also on the mortgage &  need an NIE as well. They can't take time off work.  It sounds like a bit of an adventure Queing for that.

Great news to hear that the crane is gone..and things are moving along smoothly. Really look forward to seeing your photos and meeting up someday real soon. cheers for now, Carol & Danny No 50

Hi Billy and Janet

Thanks for update and look forward to seeing more pics - only thing that's keeping me going!

Re 200 euros charge for NIE - I was surprised to hear about that.  I thought it was just something we could do on our own anyway.   Wot u think?    We are going out 1st week March and I've already got our 2 copies of passport and 2 passport pics ready, so do we really need to be escorted do you think?  I don't think it has to be done in Alicante as I remember reading somewhere (maybe a posting on EOS) that we could do it in Oruehla and the queues weren't half as bad.

Re pool etc - what was your general impression of the space available in comparison to the original artist's impression?   From the pics I've seen, I can't see how we'll get any sunbeds around the pool.  Will be interested in your views now that you've seen it.

Do you think that end of March is still 'doable' for completion?   We have followed Ian's lead and taken the plunge and booked flights for 22 April in the hope that it's still on.   Had chance of reasonable priced flights so went for it.

Getting nearer our dreams now.  Thanks again.

hi dil/alan

re:nie. we were taken by our solicitors to alicante for our nie ,it is easier to get them quickly as i was led to believe, did not wait to long in queue but had to be there early before opening, dont know about getting them anywhere else but was told alicante was best option, you could do it yourself cost you 6.80 euros but form is in spanish and has to be correctly filled or no nie .we were picked up and taken to alicante and back and solicitors went next day and got them for us(dont get them there and then im afraid)you do need one passport size photo and photo copy of each passport,it was a bit expensive but hey no hassle apart from the 5.30 rise(yawn)was told elche was an absolute nightmare to go and get nie nos.

pool area is as.(on artist impression and looks right for the small developmen)as does the lovely landscaped areas just right imo the wall does get higher to one side but this is down to the gradient of the site,as for loungers i reckon we could get a few  in pool area ok as long as we dont all end up like the germans with towels and loungers. the development is cracking, really nice and i reckon it will be finished for march/april.(was told that at site)plenty of bodies on site .you should just be about right with your flights (chance you take)i did the same with the jan. hol but it backfired(not ready)i am back out beg. may hopefully for a stay in new casa.large ariel on site for sky tv etc (comunual)

i used my visits to spain to organize all my furniture ,air con,tv ,lighting etc etc. so will save bit of time when i do complete.

another point i would like to make was how pleasantly surprised we were at the size of the hole house when you see it virtually completed, kitchen is really surprising(plenty units and space,)

really good quality products and excellent value for money as good as any anywhere if not better.

Hi Billy & Janet - Thanks for that - very encouraging.

It must be a larger than it looks.  Although having said that, when we were out beg. of Dec. I couldn't see it then either!!  LOL

Thrilled though that you are so positive about it.   Can't remember now whether you are on the Calle Cadiz side or the Jaboneras side.  If it's the Cadiz side I'd be very interested to know how advanced they now are, as in Dec they were well behind the other side.  Really looking forward to seeing your pics.

Re NIE.  We joined the Parador Owners Club which, although expensive, it gives us a lifetime lifeline for any help.  The only charge we'll have for the escorted NIE trip is to the Solicitor who sends one of his minions to assist us and charges around 40 euros,so that's not too bad.  Must say, they have been excellent so far - no complaints.

You say you organised furniture etc.  That would be a great idea for when we go out in March to get the NIE.   Did you do one of the packages or have you just arranged delivery of furniture for a later date from 'normal' furniture stores?   Can you also tell me whether we can organise air con before actually completing?

Seems like an eternity since we were out there last March making the bold decision and now I can't wait.

Sorry to be bombarding you - just an over-anxious idiot at the moment.  I promise to bring my Kalms with me when we eventually arrive!!

Hi Dil & Alan,

Regarding the  airconditioning..  You can arrange it beforehand.  We mentioned it when asking about the adjustments to the kitchen wall, larger water tank etc.  Immediately  A lady called Silvia, from Mahersol emailed us back... (whom I think some of you may have met.)    She referred our questions to the Hogar mahersol division of the company.   And a M.Carmen Bailen contacted us and gave what we felt were 2 very reasonable quotes for 2 different moidels of reverse hot/cold  AC units...including installation., We accepted the Mitsubishi model..and it will be in place when we move in.  A deposit of 50% is needed to secure the units. cheers, Carol

Very interesting Miss Marple!   - I was told via email that until the property is ours and all signing etc completed, the air con company can't have access to do anything.   That said though, I had my quotes from a firm recommended by Parador.  Maybe if I contact Grupo direct, we can get it sorted with another company at this stage.  It would certainly make more sense as long as their prices are competitive.   Thanks goodness for EOS!

hi dil,i am on calle jaboneros(28)just about finished.

calle cadiz is behind a bit but in saying that since sept. it is progressing swiftly, tiled in all upper houses, floor being done on lower etc as of sunday 27th,i would say there is a big push going on now with the builder to get it all finished without any further extentions to the completion times given.the pool was never going to be that big but i think it will do us all nicely on what i have seen.we purchased all our furniture from different places giving great choice(did not fancy much of the packages,i think there overpriced)time consuming getting the furniture right imo we wanted top quality goods as we are not letting it out so our own use(no abuse).furniture stores are happy to take your order(with deposit)and store your goods until required(i bought mine back in september)better ordering a bit earlier anyway to make sure it is all there when you need it.

i bought my own air con(2 units 1 12000btu lounge 1 7000btu main bedroom )eco inverters hot/cold budget around 2000 euros for top quality units(better in the long run)i am going to fit them myself they charge around 200euros a unit to fit(sod that) no probs organizing before completion but fitting after completion.there is a lot of  cheap air con out there but a lot of rubbish imo. i only want to install it once so decided on top quality units hot and cold/ quiet economical eco inverters.

looking forward to meeting everyone and happy to help in any way ,as everyone else is no probs.dont know about  your kalms but i think a dram or two would be nice.

cheers

Hi All, back again.

I Just checked out the air con info.I was given. so I can quote it all correctly.  If anyone is interested...or wants to compare prices.  I have only made comparisons  from checking web pages on units...  and what I have been told at other developments regarding the additional costs.   So perhaps if anyone has an understanding.. they might like to comment on what sort of quality these are..and value.

In fact I was more concerned for getting some heat in place. With moving in early spring. Strange as it may seem. As we were in Spain last Easter...and it was very cold. We also had a cold & wet spell in late Nov. &  severe storms our weekend in Sept.  I was very glad to hear of the lovely weather these past couple weeks. Hope it holds for next month.

They are Mitsubishi models...split units. One a 20 HDS..  COLD output.. 1.800 Kcal. and HOt. Output..1.900 Kcal.   the Second Unit is 28 HDS..COLD Output 2.200 Kcal..and HOT Output...2.400 Kcal.  For both units and the Installation..(including Vat.) the price is 1640 Euros. This is through the developer Mahersol Hogar...and M. Carmen Bailen. Referred to us by silvia in the office.

Hope this is of some help.

I would just like to thank Billy...and further what Dil has said..how much we enjoy reading all these updates. and seeing the photos. I cannot apologise enough.. that I was never able to post my pics.when I was there in Nov. Simple Emails..& a bit of research are all I can manage on the PC.  I did ask for the kids help..but it fell on deaf ears.

To further Billy's sentiments..We made 4 trips this year to Spain..driving all over for the entire month of August searching for a property. And nothing matched the location..price..& quality of what we are buying at Mirador. They are extremely spacious...with a full size kitchen...2 bathrooms..a huge solarium....gorgeous views..and at an amazing price. Even with the Euro devaluing. We are extremely lucky. The only problem we have..is what to do with all our junk. This is going to be our permanent home. quite a downsize...but we absolutley love it. Thanks for the tips on furniture as well. How did the spanish prices compare to the UK?

Cheers, Carol at No 50
