Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to send money to Spain on a regular basis?  Apparently sending via your bank is not the best option, and I've heard about the following companies, but wondered if anyone has any experience with any of these or any others?

Money Corp, Currencies Direct, HIFX

Any info much appreciated.

Sal

I think that most of the tranfer companies will only do over certain amounts on a regular basis. I know that some of them used to do a guaranteed exhange rate if you committed to monthly transfers.

Have a look on the general threads for some of the companies and see what you think. I have dealt with two of them and they were good, although reading the threads this is not always the case.

I have used HIFX and found the process to be trouble free but this was for the deposit and then the balance so the amounts were quite large. I am sure if you contact them about regular payments of smaller amounts they will give you all the details. ANY of these companies will be less expensive than using your bank. You could try opening a euro account in the uk and transferring the money to Spain from there. You just have to ensure you keep the account topped up.

Have you completed yet and when do you plan to travel to Spain?

Hi Sally

We have used Moneycorp and found them excellent - Much better exchange rates than the banks, although again we have only transferred one off payments not regular amounts.

Thanks for the info.  A few people have recommended Moneycorp, so we contacted them and they've now sent us their registration pack.

Hi All

you can also use xetrade.com and check between them and moneycorp as to who will give you the better deal, I have used both and found xetrade to be the better.  Also you can set up relay payments from your bank for a regular monthly amounts which can be amended a syou wish.  this facility with Natwest costs £10 a month.

regards

Tim
