For those who have not completed yet, the following may be more relevant, as those who have completed, may  have further comments to make on this subject.

You will be given a snagging sheet to complete that has to be given to KM within a month.  We did not pick out silly things but rather concentrated on matters that were specific and needed attention. We also prioritised the list  as one or two things were very important and in fact, posed a health and safety risk.

Having been out for 5 weeks - not one thing was attended to no matter how many times we drew attention to the dangers.  Then we had a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom. The water had to be switched off making it unuseable. After complaining over and over someone came a week later spent 3 hrs in the roof void and later that day the leak was 10 times worse.

We have had to come away last week with this leak still present, made several attempts since we came back to check if it has been fixed! A comment that was made by a member of KM staff was - " the builders are very busy trying to finish the work and handover - goodness knows what will happen when everyone moves in and they are faced with snagging lists from everyone. Imagine 500 properties with say, 10 items on each list".   Actually, no I don't want to imagine that - I want the leak fixed right now and short of contacting our solicitor I don't know what else to do!

Hi downsfennon,

Have you completed yet, and if you have, did you have a lot on your snagging list?

There is a temporary Customer Service portakabin KM have set up on the approach road to Thalassa to address issues.  Due to the August holiday shutdown, I was advised non urgent snags won't be addressed for a few weeks but I have to say I turned up and moaned about an electrical socket falling out of the wall when I unplugged our hoover and someone came round to inspect it later that day.  The men came out and fixed it and made good the next day.

Don't forget KM have that penalty clause in the sales contract for a completion deadline as well as a completion schedule to adhere to so common sense tells you they will utilise their resources with these priorities in mind.

NB - I recommend asking KM to take a photocopy of your snagging list when you take it in so you have the evidence, dated and signed by the KM rep you hand it to.

On a positive note, everyone is working hard in the boiling sun to get things ready and you can see visible changes taking place every day when you walk around the site.   KM have an English man, Jim, who is in charge of snagging and I saw his blue VW Golf at Thalassa every day last week.  He called to see me about my snagging list about 3 days after I took it into the office

Hi!

Our apartment was completed two weeks ago and the first thing we saw when we got into the house was a big leak in the bathroom. It was so big that we even had water in the main bedroom floor. We went straight away to the Customer Service portakabin and the following day we had it fixed. We had a few other things, the TV didn't work because the aerial wasn't connected, the hot water heater didn't work and we now have everything fixed. Two weeks, but we got it.  The key???? I went EVERY SINGLE day to the KM office and talked to them. Also it is important to talk to the right person, Maria is really good, speaks excellent English and really helpful.

Hope it helps.

Hi Everyone,

We completed on the 3rd August.Blk 23 no 15.Our aftersales from Parador had already done our snagging for us before completing.

When we moved in on the 4th we only found a couple of very minor things which Key Mare came and sorted straight away.I guess we have been lucky so far.Hopefully we won't find that anything has happened when we go back in October.

We have been impressed with the way the site has moved on this year and can't wait to finally see it all finished.

That's all for now.We wish everyone still to complete all the best, and look forward to meeting more of you out there as well as the people we already met during our week in August.

Brian and Maxine

Vip Supporter

We are regularly checking propertues before completion

The period of August is the peak holiday period and there were very few workers onsite till this week so I know that there are problems getting work done

The general build quality is good for this site

If you have any problems getting work done you should ask for an offical complaints form, which all organisations that deal with the public have to provide and this is dealth with by The Town Hall and is regarded as very serious

Simply asking for the form can often change the attitude of the builder

Remember under Spanish Law there is a lagl obligation, to repair the initally identifed snagging faults, within 30 working days, 6 weeks
