Hi,

With the AGM almost upon us, I am wondering how many people are planning to attend, and what issues they are likey to raise?

Unfortunately for us we arrive the day after so can't attend, but are interested to know what is likely to be raised by fellow residents

We are going to be in Aguilas at the time of the general AGM (17th August) and I am thinking of asking why the things that were mentioned as benefits of the development have not progressed at all for the last four years! The mini golf is a joke it has never been finished and is now just a dumping ground and a mess. The Tennis/Golf club is similar with the building work having stopped about three years ago leaving the club house as an abandoned shell, again what a mess! Although the courts are usable, you have to compete with non residents who park on the road and climb onto the site to monopolise the facilities. This was supposed to be a gated private development, you can bet your last euro that the gate will also never be built!

I feel you may have been led up the garden path by your agent when purchasing.

The tennis & mini golf are not run or even owned by Mar & Casas, they are owned (by the majority) by Águilas council & will be run as a private business when the resort is nearer completion.
These will then be open to the general public NOT just for the residents of Los Collados let alone Las Dunas and never were meant to be.

I have noticed that in may of your postings you have gone on about this.

Our administrator has absolubtly NO power or clout regarding these items & I think it would be much more productive if we spend a bit more of our time trying to get Las Dunas running smoothly.

If you speak to the builders they will be more than happy to give you a schedule of when certain items such as the road, security presence on the entrance etc will be done.

I dont know if you have been thinking about letting your property at all but some of us are! Therefore it would be nice if we could at times mention some positive items about Los Collados. You never know who is reading these constantly negative posts about things which are in fact nothing to do with our community.

Hi Rich,

I feel that an AGM is an open forum for owners to discuss aspects of the community regardless of who is responsible for what.

I am not trying to rent out our property, We have bought it for our personal enjoyment, which is currently being marred by the issues I posted previously and I will not be able to fully enjoy my visits whilst the golf and tennis are a mess and the road is a bombsite etc etc. I have specifically notified Gesisur of things that are clearly their responsibility, (like rust seepnig back into the pool and the tiles coming off,) I think that the other issues need wider discussion and representation with the responsible body.

I would have thought that if you were renting your property out it would have been in your interest to try and gain closure on some of these issues (who ever is responsible) as this will have a direct impact on your marketability and tenant satisfaction.

I agree its not ideal to post on this forum ,(we had previously proposed the creation of an email circulation list so that owners could discuss problems out of the public eye) we were simply answering a point raised on this thread and were not trying to create a negative impression of the site, merely a truthful one!

We will be at Las Dunas from 7th August, should anyone wish us to represent their views at the AGM in order to make this development the wonderful resort  that it will eventually be..........with all our input.

Kind regards Andy

Hi All,

We thought it was about time we joined in the discussion regarding Las Dunas.

Having taken possesion of our property Block 10 apartment A  Ground floor in Decemer 2006 we have had 4 trips out to this lovely part of Spain. The only downside is that nothing seems to get totally finished and the property management company only seem to do anything when regularly chased. We are out again from the 23rd of July to the 13th August and unfortunately are going home before the AGM. We are keen on our views being represented as I am sure all of us want to look forward to arriving at the development without that feeling of what still hasn't been done or what has gone wrong since the last time we visited.

It would be good to meet up with some of our neighbours especially those that will be at the AGM and pool our thoughts. If anyone is out in Las Dunas the first 2 weeks of August , going to the AGM  and happy to represent us please let us know .

Kind Regards,

Milan and Bev

Hello

I posted the original message on this thread, I agree with the point made by 3sl that potential renters or even buyers will possibly read this site and that negative postings will not help rental or resale opportunities, however I also agree with Sue2's comment regarding the impact of the surrounding area on rental opportunities (tennis courts, mini golf, road surface and building work) Even if they are not directly under the control of Gesisur or Mar y Casas I would hope that the community of owners working in partnership with the administrator can influence outcomes or at least ensure everyone has good quality and timely information

Clearly there is some value in owners sharing experiences, concerns and solutions, and  that we need a place to do this in a way that does not create the wrong impression Los Collados    There seems to be the need for an owners access only  forum  or some other sort of communication  network?

Today I have emailed a list of UK owners to ask if they would like to join an informal network - if you did not receive my email please contact me via this website and I will ensure you are included.  Once I have had replies I will set up a user group and we can then begin to look at how to move forward

Incidently we were in Los Dunas de Cope from 13th to 10th of July and missed the mini meetings but have rearranged our plans so that we can attend the main AGM on 17th of July. We noticed the following progress

Tennis Courts - Club House Work has begun on the club house

MIni Golf - Work has begun on improving this area

Main Road - Should be resurfaced and finished by December

Post Boxes -  are located in the wooden chalet above the tennis courts (key can be obtained from Gesisur)

Swimming Pools - You now need a key to gain access to both pools (can be obtained from Mar y Casas) however people were climbing  through gap in fence and over the wall - so more work needed

Overall we were pleased that progress is being made

Amanda
