Dear all,

This is my first post on here and im hoping you can all help.

My wife and I have wanted to buy an apartment in spain for the last few years and feel now is a good time as prices seem at an all time low.(We have a 1 year old too !)  A good friend of mine who was living on camposol for the last 12 years recomended to me Condado golf resort. We have been looking and have seen various 'Narajos' apartments that are selling for 55-68000 euros, all of which are bank reposesions and this promted me to contact an agent called Villaquest and from there on I have been dealing with a bank manager at Banco popular who is pre aranging us some finance prior to coming over next month.

Would someone help me with a few questions below

I understand that al kasar is plentyfull of bars and restraunts ?

Are the prices resonable on food and drinks  ?

How much is a pint on condado/al kasar !?

Are the bars open all year?

Is condado a good place for a family

Finally what is the best gardens to buy an apartment on ?

I apreciate any comments

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon.

Al Kasar has the following bars and restaurants;

Big G's American Diner, La Cata Spanish/international restaurant and bar, Skye pizzeria and Bar, Funky Monkey taste of Asia restaurant, Sofias Bulgarian Bistro, Clover Bar, La Cata Music Bar/ karaoke, St Andrews Scottish Bar, Mikys corner cafe and bakery.

Elsewhere there is the Condado club and Diversity Golf club which serve food and drink.

Prices are reasonable. Perhaps slightly more than you might get elsewhere but not much. A pint is probably around 2.50 euros...not sure but not expensive.

The La Cata busineses and Funky Monkey close over winter but this year all the others stayed open, most were open all day every day.

Condado is great for families. Lots of families and kids in summer and school holidays. A kids club in summer and activities laid on.

Best gardens depends what you want. naranjos and Jardine 13 are closest to Al Kasar. Nearly all have a pool except some of the Naranjos gardens.

take a look at OnCondado.com for more info about the resort. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Good Morning

Thank you for the reply. I am coming over in June now to look. I have been researching Condado for the last few weeks and am sure it will be just what we are looking for. How long would it take to drive from Murcia airport? also ive noticed that alhama and camposol are close . Is there a local taxi company that offer fair prices to the two towns?

Thank you again for your reply

Simon

Don't forget about the maintenance fees ...They can be expensive ...All the nice surroundings/gardens/swimming pools and the general up keep has to be paid for by you..

I would much rarther pay fees for a place that jobs are being done, swimming pools that you can turn up for a swim when you fancy, and not having to pay for the upkeep of a pool that you might only visit a few weeks of the year, also having sercuity patrols roads maintained street light working, the list goes on, yes send me my monthy bill, not a problem

I have visited la,isla  place, when looking for properties,,,i have to say it seemed very well maintained, i was impressed with  the maintenance....

my only drawback was the apartments was small in size  for my personal needs,...

It was a hard decision...if they had a 3 bed , i would have bought...

overall its about personal choice and what is important for you...

wish you the best

We have recently (within the last month) purchased here and used Condado Invest, who were amazing, from Sara who showed us round properties in February, to Britta in aftersales they took care of everything, they helped us set up Spanish Bank Acccounts, solicitors everything. We were very clear in our budget and had real mexpectations of what we were looking for, and it all exceeded. Our solicitors were also really good, we held out for the best exchange rate (or our preferred rate) so it was us dragging our feet essentially, but it made the difference of a few thousand poounds.

We also used John Lewis International Payments Service for transferring money, one of the best exchange rates out there.
