Advice re pre paid cash cards

I am over withfriends in 14 days & staying for much longer than useual & have been looking at pre paid cash cards on the internet. The rates are better than my bank @ the moment.

However I am wondering if they are excepted in all of the places on Condado & possibly the supermarket on Campasol

I have used a CaxtonFX (Visa) card for several years and had no problems. I use it as my prime card and have used it here, Dubai, Oz and South Africa and UK. It's easy to top-up as you preregister an account for top-up purposes which can you do online or through their mobile app. If you get a Sterling card remember to make sure they(merchants) charge in Euro otherwise they will apply their own exchange rate which will be very poor! If you get a Euro card, then no problem.

Hi  we also use the Caxton FX Europe Traveller visa card which is very easy to load and use. Never had any problems using it, and use the ATM in Camposol to draw euros out. There is a minimum of 150 euros to load each time, but no charges at ATMs and retailers/restrurants etc.

I also have the Caxton visa.when I load it on the internet ,the balance goes on straight away.I have used it at different ATM's and shops with no problems at all.I have also found on the occassion I had to ring them,the staff to be very helpfull.
