Wondering if anyone else is having issues with the noise from the Clover? We are over on La Isla and every time Clover has live music on (so frequently) the noise is ridiculous. I'm sat inside my apartment as I type this how and I can hear the singer word for word.  Gangnam Style blarring out at 0025 is NOT enjoyable.

I've complained in person to Mileniun Levante (they said they have had lots of complaints) and I've sent 2 emails. I've also e mailed Clover (no reply)

I appreciate it is a holiday resort and we ourselves are on holiday but the music really doesn't have to be that loud.  We can not sit on our terrace and have a peaceful evening and it prevents us from sleeping some nights. We will not go to Al kazar as the music really is deafening inside there and we could not enjoy a meal/drink with that going on.....so other businesses are losing out on custom.  We have spoken to several other people who have said the same.   It is not fair that one businesse can dominate and determine the nature of the resort.

Before I get negative comments back, I would like to point out that I'm not complaining because I am old/miserable or objecting to live music; I would just like to enjoy my properly and have relaxing evenings, not have  incredibly loud music forced on me. It really has spoiled many nights over the last couple of weeks and I would just like the local businesses to show some consideration and turn the music down.

Thank you.

Accept your point about loud music. There will be some that agree with you and others that enjoy it. However, I don't think you should single out the Clover for criticism. When we have been over this summer the Clover, La Cata, Sophia's and Big G's have all had live music on the terrace at Al Kasar and they have all been equal in volume.

Like I said, it's not the music I'm against - just the sheer volume of it. It is way too loud. It is spoiling our enjoyment of our property and the fact that we can hear it so loud inside and it is stopping us sleeping (it was still going on at 0130 this morning) is not right.  In the last 3 weeks, we've only had issues with Clover and we've actually been over a couple of times to check it was definitely them, hence they are the only ones I am mentioning.

I will start by stating that I normally avoid these websites that allows anyone to post anonymously as most do on here but will make an exception this time. I have replied to every email that has ever been sent regarding noise at the Clover 2 in 2 years and although I am in regular contact with ML they have never mention once to me anything about noise. I also get asked about the entertainment at least 20 times each week and often asked why not more and I always explain that we must strike a correct balance for all

Let me start by stating the position, the Clover holds a music license and also pays the spanish equivalent of performing rights thousand of euros each year to be allowed to play music this is the law.

On a normal night the music at the Clover finishes at 12 midnight and does not exceed this any other music heard will be from the establishments.

The resort lives on people visiting and all the restaurants and bars only survive due to holidaymakers renting mainly in the summer period. If no entertainment was provided then they would not come back this is a fact people need to be entertained whilst  on holiday the music lasts when on 2 hours a night as stated finishing at midnight. No entertainment, less people, less revenue. Many of the establishment struggle to survive and if the number reduces then we may find ourselves in the same position as the other 5 ex Polaris resorts.

Last Sunday was an exception the event was run by the D'genes charity that supports children with incurable diseases. They provided the sound the equipment the acts and all he licenses this was sanctioned by IRM and the council. I felt it ran to long as well by the control was not ours but the one off cause was worthy, remember fiesta next week will we get the same complaint about late music after midnight?

I would also like to add that since the Al Kasar has been built outside music has ran throughout the summer, Polaris often did not even start till midnight so I would presume that people when purchasing new this!!

My family took a gamble many years ago when nobody else would and we love the fact that Condado has blossomed when all other are failing, but we need the people coming to maintain this.

I would like to apologise to anyone who finds the music from 9:30 pm till midnight  with a half hour break unbearable a couple of times a week but we do try to strike a balance.

And the last thing I always state everybody who knows me will tell you that I am a approachable man and will discuss anything in person but please please stop using this site to attack any of the bars and restaurants namelessly they all have invested in our resort so support and be positive, the people on La torre and the other resorts look at us and hope that they one day will get something similar in the summer.

Hope you all have a great summer and will look forward to seeing many of you over the next year

Neil

Again, let me state that I do NOT object to the music. I am objecting to the sheer volume of it which is completely unnecessary. I sent Clover a polite e mail and had no reply.

I knew everyone would come out on this forum and give me grief- but try sitting on my terrace or trying to sleep when the music is that loud. It doesn't always finish at midnight as I have been noting when it finishes (I am talking about other nights, not last night)

Again, I like music but it really doesn't have to be that loud and it has been 4 nights this week which is the majority of the week, not a couple of nights.

I have been coming to Condado for 6 years and have never known the volumes to be as loud as it is now

When we first came to Condado last year we heard the outside music from Al Kasar from our roof, we are on garden 13, but I believe soon after they were all told to turn the volume down and I've never heard anything again since.

I've been to Al Kasar in the evenings over the last week or so and I honestly can't see where the opening poster is coming from, sorry MJE, I know how noise pollution can be a nuisance but I have not experienced the volume you say that you have over the last week we have been here, even from within Al Kasar.

I agree with Neil above that as a resort we need entertainment, especially being so far away from anything else and I for one am pleased that the local businesses are trying to thrive.

I wonder is La Isla has and is being sold as a place of solitary peace and tranquility yet being so close to the heart of Condado, Al Kasar, that may sometimes be compromised. I noticed that the fun fair attracted a lot of objection from La Isla based on noise and disturbance and us sequentially was removed, which was not very fair for everyone else on Condado but we have to live with that.

Regardless I hope a satisfactory balance can be reached. I want the businesses on Al Kasar to succeed and be there for me.

I don't normally contribute to these forums but felt I had to express my views here

I have actually stopped coming to Al Kasar of an evening as Clover dominates the area. If am sitting in la Cata, for example, I do not want their music to be drowned out by your acts. I honestly think it's great that you put on live music but don't understand why it has to dominate the area. I wonder what the other businesses think of your dominance? I'm guessing that they want to create their own ambience but are unable to do so and this is hardly conducive to a prosperous town centre.

We all have a common interest in the resort's prosperity and I admire your courage in taking over the Clover at a difficult economic time but your business is one of several on the resort and I don't think people come all this way just to listen to  cabaret entertainment. They come, I believe, to enjoy the laid back atmosphere of the resort and to state that it is a 'fact' that these people will not return without your entertainment is,  at best,  conjecture. I say this as someone who has been coming to CDA almost since day one and have a stake in one property and own another.

By all means have live music but I think you have a responsibility to keep the noise down to an acceptable level. As long as your customers can hear it why does everybody else in surrounding businesses and apartment blocks need to?

The solution is quite obvious. You only need to show a small amount of empathy in order for everyone to be happy and for the resort to continue to prosper.  No one is objecting to what you're doing, just the noise levels which should be turned down if people are being disturbed in their own properties.

Crashtester, maybe it is to do with the acoustics or wind direction and the noise isn't a problem for you but it certainly is where I live.

Yes, the fair was unpopular on La Isla but would the jardines or naranjos have liked it right opposite their apartments?  There are plenty of sites on the resort that it could have gone on without being right opposite homes. I  actually took my daughter to the fair and we were the only people there so I think it going was more to do with a lack of business than objections from La Isla.

I also want the business and resort to thrive but as I have said several times, I am only objecting to the sheer volume, not the entertainment itself. I too want a balance to be reached.

While I am not a huge fan of loud music till all hours I accept that some people like to party late on their holidays and I think everyone has to compromise a bit.

Just think what it would have been like if the pub/town centre was between the Jardines and La Isla as I believe was first mooted. And with the 10,000+ people who were supposed to be on site.

I can remember what CdA was like 5 years ago and while it was quiet and peaceful most residents headed off site for entertainment (as the Clover had very unusual opening hours).  Unfortunately we can't have the tranquility and the bars and restaurants but I think most people are happier with what we have now, and if it means a little (or a lot) more noise on occassion thats the compromise.

Argh. Again, I am NOT objecting to the music or the entertainment, just the fact that it is SO loud. I'm not suggesting quiet nor a return to a deserted resort, just that the music isn't deafening. I can and do like music and I do 'party' and go to bars and clubs but being able to hear singers word for word when I am inside my apartment (and it is 3/4 nights a week so not occasionally) is not acceptable nor a fair compromise.

MJE.  I understand you were objecting to the loudness of the music..hence my use of loud in my first sentence.  I was merely stating that a byproduct of a popular vibrant resort is late night partying that inevitably includes Loud music.

You won't find me down at the Clover late at night so I'm not defending anyone in particular.  I find if we have noisy neighbours in the garden acouple of glasses of red always helps me sleep.

Think we will need to keep our 4 year old up so we can investigate for ourselves, although must say from what I saw last saturday I never thought I would ever see the mass of outside seating at al kazar jam packed with people, plus condado club run short of food. Well done to all the businesses and clientel.

We nearly purchased at La Isla but the close proximity to town centre.. we thought... handy for shopping but too close if you dont like potential lound  music. We wouldnt purchase near an airport if we didnt like aircraft noise but getting flights would be easy . Swings and roundabouts ..We purchased on Camposol where 12 bars compete for the trade and as many will know weekly Karaoke,Groups etc and events are on all year round. Must say though weve had no problems even though the nearest Bars are just 300 meters away and the local police make sure it wraps up in time.

Holiday makers are out at Condado looking for a good time and they add to the resorts buzz in the summer months and school holidays so everyone should live and let live. It seems to me a simple solution "just turn it down a bit" and everyone will be happy!
