Now we are over 100 people in this area who are against.

All

Integration in Spain does not mean that you have to learn to live with terrible noise all day !

It would be better if you could produce official documents on what plans are in the town hall, and what evidence you have for the noise pollution, and then, and only then can people make a informed decision. We need to see both sides of the argument.

Noise pollution depends a lot of the wind-direction. If the wind comes from south, witch often happens in summer, then you can hear motocross 1 km away like it is 50 meter beside you.

Since the motocross-circle in 'los balcones' was build apr. 4 years ago it was illegal and until now it is vorbidden by the townhall of Mazarron and townhall of Totana. You can't hear a lot because they practised very seldom. (they have to pay fines about that)

Everybody can go to the townhall to verify that !

Now they try to get legalization in Murcia, far away and nobody here was informed.

Hi

I noticed this thread and the confusion and some misinformation causing concern for residents

In the current economic climate , I believe we should encouraging all forms of entrepreneurship that allows our spanish neighbours to earn a living.  I understand that noise can be an issue with Motocross venues, despite some notes on here the bikes are silenced to 94 decibel reading  2 meters from the exhasust at 4500 rpm and not straight through as claimed.

The sound  does carry dependent on wind conditions but they will have been  tested for a noise test for the track to gain a licence and the owner will have to conform to it. The test will be to record the a level at maxium rpm and 100 meters away where the maxium level will be 81 decibels and this will be periodically tested.

Therefore with condado being some 1.5km away it is unlkely we will be exceeding the OSHAS limits for daily exposure are below

OSHA Daily Permissible Noise Level Exposure
Hours per day Sound level
8 90dB
6 92dB
4 95dB
3 97dB
2 100dB
1.5 102dB
1 105dB
.5 110dB
.25 or less 115dB

The private track at the red finca is closer and the noise is more prominent but again they were here first and I am sure athat in building the resort and the motorway we so gratefully enjoy there may have endured considerable noise during its construction.

Lets live and let live, we have created a NIMBY  (Not In My Back Yard) attitude in the UK , lets not transpose our prejudices to the our Spanish friends who are generally more tolerant to the freedom we once had.

curious: many official noise recordings of motocross dispositions show you averaged over running time levels of 115 to 137 dB (depending on how many bikes are running at once).

But, it is not important wether it is 80 or 100 or 120 dB, that aggressive sound is bothering ! The permanently up and down of the motors brings you to the end of one's rope !

Once they can start exercising, you can go up on your terrace and watch them driving up and down the hill nearby us. You can enjoy it for the rest of your life, then you can't sell any property here !

This will be the least of our worries as far as noise pollution, what do you think is going to happen when they build the paramount theme park, pretty sure the noise from that will drown out any noise from the motocross biks.

From the penthouses you could hear the drone from the moto cross when it was being used, quite annoying after so long and was even louder with the wind direction.
Some folks feel justified to moan about the smell of animal dung, but coming from a rural area myself this is not a problem, it's nature. Moto cross noise pollution is not.
Just my opinion not a political statement.

to refer to Paramount:

1. a holyday-park like Paramount ist quite gentle, no analogy to motocross.

2. the distance to the intended plot of 'Paramount' is more than 7 km, not like 700 meter to motocross.

3. Who really belief in the fairy story of 'Paramount' ?
(if you pay them some million euros you can use their name, thats all)

We have an apartment in Jardin1 and we have both watched and listened to the bikes going up and down the hill across from the site , must say the noise was terrible even inside the apartment. This is not what we want to listen to when we sit on our terrace.

please some words about money, because here you can read ".. need to earn a living .."

We have three motocross-circuits running in this area. Now another motocross-circuit opens aprox. 12 km from here, away from any lived-in region. (wich is good)
'Los Balcones' would be the fifth in a circle of 15 km !

Not a single 'new euro' will be generated. They would only pull the money from Mazarron, Totana and Alhama.
This is good only for the owner of the motocross-circle and some clerks.

We all living around, then pay with the value of our properties and our quality of live.

For people who are closer, normal living comes to an end.

People living in 'Canadas de Romero' (the village beside the motocross-circuit) wanted to bild a new house on their plot, but now it doesn't make sense.
Neighbors are working there on building up a business (disturbing nobody) wich will bring hundred-thousands of 'new euros' hither and a lot of new jobs. But with noise-pollution you can forget it.

The harm for us all is thousand times bigger than some money for the owner!

apart from that: if this get around in Europe, that it is possible in Spain to open and drive a motocross-circle in closeness to a village, to hundreds of apartments in a recreation area,

the bad reputation of Spain will grow along.
