My parents are staying in Condado this week and unfortunately my mum isn't feeling great.  Can anyone give details of an english speaking doctor should she need one.

Many thanks in advance.

You really need a translator anywhere you go. Even Camposol medical centre advise to have a translator.

Do you know anyone who could go with them????

I'd be shocked if the new private Health Clinic at Camposol Business Centre (968 103 008) - on the opposite side of the road to Consum - didn't speak English. Underneath it is the Pharmacy who also speak good English. Behind the Business Centre is the Medical Centre (built on 'stilts') which I assume is still open but mainly manned by Nurses who should accept E111.

If want to use E111 for free health cover when visiting then I think there's a doctor at the Clinic in Fuente Alamo (968596086?) that speaks English and I believe the Clinica Rover in Mazarron (968296884?) has English speaking staff (not sure if private or not). I would imagine clinics in the Port have English speaking doctors as well.

People that advertise locally providing translation services for medical/hospital etc include:

Debbie 677 353136 (for Camposol medial appointments)

Esther Rama 617 054872

P.S. If you have a smartphone, download the Google Translate app and then download their Spanish language pack - then you'll have a translation tool literally at your fingertips wherever you go (with your phone).

You can buy a book printed by PALS in Camposol for 5 Euro at market on Fridays in Camposol! Has all the possible phrases you will need for hospital etc!

are you friendly with Georges and Sandrine in Sweet Paradise...they know a Spanish Dr in Condado...she has attended a few at home!

Redrose - when the Google Translate app is open on your smartphone and you've got access to wifi go into 'settings' and then 'download offline packages' select 'wifi only' then go back to the options that include 'settings' and next to that is 'offline languages' which you select and then scroll through the list (English is probably the only one already loaded) and select Spanish and then download it (think each language is about 100mb to 250mb - make sure you have enough space on your phone).

You're then able to use the translate tool offline (although if you want to speak into your phone to get a Spanish translation you still need wifi access but at least you can type the words in offline).

Thank you very much everyone for the info. I will pass it unto my mum.  I have sent her to a pharmacy to see is they can perscribe something! They do have travel insurance should they need to see a doctor privately.

Many thanks, once again.  Its good to have this info at hand.

For information, the Google Translate offline option isn't available on iOS (iPhone/iPad) versions, only Android.
