I´m s spanish citizen and I have also an apartment there.
When I bought my apartment, the seller told me they would rent my apartment and could afford my loan. The reality is different, the renting is not guaranteed (it depends of the location of the building and of the demand), but if they rent it, the average per month is around 350-400 euros.
In July and August they are renting the apartments for around 1000 euros WEEK, so in just 2 monthes they make more money than they pay for the whole year, to this you have to add the renting for Eastern, June, Sept, etc.
They make 3 or 4 times more than they pay you.
In my case, my apartment will be delivered in end of 2007, but I have decided to rent it by myself. I preffer to make some short trips and take care of the rental by myself.
If anyone is interested in my help, for a small fee of 300 euros I could take care of your rental.
So if you rent your apartment for 1000 euros 1 or 2 or 3 weeks, I would take 300 euros in concept of my car trip to the apartment, clean it, etc (it does not matter how long you rent it, I just charge for my trip and clean the home for to have it ready).
