I completed on my property in Vistamar3 in July and am now discovering the problems we all have.

  • Hardly anyone speaks English
  • No storage space to leave equipment on site or in apartment
  • Building apartment blocks in between blocks where we thought building completed
  • Transport links to Marina D'Or are non existant unless you can get there by car
  • Still waiting for new airport
  • Still waiting for golf course
  • many apartment blocks are empty, apartments unsold
  • marketing/advertising only good for Spanish maket rentals
  • the on site key holding facility is non-existant and expensive
  • cleaning and laundering is expensive/non-existant
  • communication - becuase it is very Spanish it is difficult to get the help you need
  • it is impossible to sell as new apartments are still being built
  • Marina D'Or seem to have the rental market with their own apartments
I think the owners here need to get together to try and get some of these things resolved. any ideas?

I agree with you . I have had the flat for a year now and Marina d'or are the worst company to deal with .

I found that they replaced  some of the furniture when I was rented with them and replaced it some cheaply one..be aware..

One of my friends got his LCD stolen as well..

I am trying to sell my place so if you know anyone please give me a shout..

Thanks

I echo Rocky's comments.

I too have an apartment in Vistamar III. At present I have it rented with Alexander Homes. They are very unreliable and owe me rent.

There clearly is an opening here for a reliable & trustworthy English oganisation with contacts in the spanish holiday market.

It would be interesting to find out how many Marina D'Or owners are UK based. We need an effective group. I suspect we have all bought with investment in mind.

Does anybody have any information about building maintenance and insurance ??

What is the place like in the Summer - everytime I have been there it is like a ghost town!!

When do all the holiday makers appear and where do they come from ??

Mike

I was there last July and it was rocking! Really busy with the beach and the bars all full. We had a job to get a table in any of the restaurants (and there were many along the beach then) we had to wait an hour. I agree with you it was like a ghost town in November and February when I went back. All the people there seemed to be Spanish holiday makers in July and wealthy Spaniards viewing the Marina D'Or exhinition in a prefab building in front of 2nd line in winter.
