Hi

I started off my adventure with Spain back in 2006 with Parador selling me a property on Almanzora Country Club which had not been built however we were assured that our money was safe and there would be no problems.

Eventually the penny dropped that ACC had serious problems with no proper planning permision and after fighting for a about a year I got my money back minus my deposit and legal fees. Many people still have had nothing back at all.

There was a site developed by a buyer called ACC and if you had purchased a property you could apply to be a member. I think there was about 150 members.

The site - like all Spanish Forums then was really busy.

I fortunately - not put off too much - managed to buy a place in Palomares which I love - but I wonder what happened to all the people who bought the dream of ACC and ended up with nothing.

Some ended up at MCC and some also transferred to Oasis Country Club but again that has stopped building.

It would be good to hear of any other success stories that came from ACC. I know a couple of people who are quite happy where they are now but my heart goes out to the many who have lost their nest eggs.

Regards

dd

Hi

I think most people are fighting to get their money back.  I know I am.  I'm glad you had success.  I will never set foot on Spanish soil again unless it is to collect a cheque - not much hope of that !!

Couldn't agree more with Jack, lets hope Huma's bosses and those Parador parasites and Aldea lawyers all have a slow and painful death for ripping off so many people!!!

Parador sold us a property on ACC in June 2005, we hung there until early 2007 then decided to cancel, sacked Aldea and employed another solicitor in Vera. We had a bank guarentee for our 1st installment which was cashed in and the money returned within eight weeks.

We took Huma to court and solicitor managed to embargo a Huma property on MCC which was debt free Huma paid up in May 2008. In July 2008 we bought an apartment on Al Andalus Thallassa Vera Playa which we holiday at 5-6 times per year and are very happy with our lot, just back from 9 days in the sun.

Guess we were one of the lucky ones that got out at the right time.

Hi diver Dan

We purchased at ACC in October 2005 just before the S**t hit the fan. We had paid one instalment and threatened Huma with court action unless we got our bank guarantee. It came from a different bank to the one that had our money but was a guarantee nevertherless.

Using that ACC site you spoke of I encouraged everyone without the guarantee to do the same, but many just left it to chance and ended up in the mire. Eventually, we had to threaten the bank with litigation before they coughed up. So we lost our initial deposit of £2k but on the up side we benefited from the Euro/pound exchange rate, and our lawyers never charged us a penny!

Its too late in life for us to look at buying even if we thought it would be a good deal. there are so many issues with the stability of European countries I would only ever rent these days because at least you can get out with minimal loss when the rioting starts.

The person who always gave good, free advice was Maria, and she kept our hopes alive in the dark days. I hope that the corruption in Spain will be swept aside and everyone will get something back eben if its one of those many apartments that noone will buy.

Kind regards
