Hi

a few years ago there was a site called  ACC Owners club. It was only for people who had - unknown to us at that time - the misfortune to have bought property on ACC. The site was run by Donald.

There was great debate and helpfulness and a sense of belonging with the members. The site was very busy.

I just wonder what happened to all the members and did they move on and buy someother place in Spain or what.

I moved on and bought a place in Palomares. Never been any happier but of course Huma still have some of my money and that annoys me.

It would be good to hear from any old members of that site and see wheer we all are now.

Regards

dd

Hi dd,

I also often wonder how everyone else is doing as so many people were involved.  We also went on to purchase a property close to you in Vera Playa and all went well and we are delighted with it.  I'm just so pleased that the Huma affair didn't put us off completely.

I do get very angry at times when I think about the money Huma still owe us.  The case has gone through the courts as we didn't have a bank guarantee but needless to say we haven't had a euro back.  We do live in hope that one day maybe!!!  not holding my breath, will be a nice surprise if we do get any back.

We are still living in the U.K. but have had many lovely holidays in Vera and our family all make good use of it.  We love it.

Regards to all.

We went to Los Gallardos, behind Mojacar - love it.  Absolutley love it.  And really I don't believe we would have liked being on a big resort type development - much happier to be able to mix with the locals!!

Hi, we were on the old ACC forum members site which was very good and very informative.

We are still owed the refund of our initial deposit paid to HUMA MED. The court ruled in our favour but Mr H just ignored the legal decisions against the company and ignored everything else infact...... and they wonder why their property market crashed........................and is still crashing to all time record lows...............

But, they STILL owe us the money so they have not got away with it as they may think ! Are we still angry - yes.

We lost all trust in the Spanish property systems and corrupt developers and authorities that never had a clue what they were doing / or maybe they did know ! We will never return again, like so many others I guess, not even as tourists will we return - sorry. They will never get another euro from me.

As you may guess we never purchased in Spain or ever will. In hindsight it may have been a good thing given the down turn in the market over the last 7 years. We probably would be down by around €50000 had the purchase happened.

But I wish good luck to you all that did find happiness in purchasing there.

I was also a member of ACC, as was Trudge who uses this site. Like Philmel, I've never bought in Spain and never will!! I've invested in the UK property market and have had no problems at all!! I still go to Spain for holiday's, in fact just came back Saturday but I will only ever rent there now. Philmel is correct, the authotities have killed off their own property market!! I was fortunate that I got most of my money back as I had a BG but I reckon I'm still down about £12K with initial deposit, lost interest and solicitors fees. I haven't given up getting that back though, as if ACC does get built, and I think it will eventially, I'll make Mr Huma's life hell as I, along with eveyone else will still have a claim as my deposit is still with them. You know how slowly the Spanish legel system works, we could tie ACC up for years!!! Best of luck to you all.

I was also a member of ACC, like Trudge, Philmel and another who's name I've forgotton at this time but sounds like a fish.     I lost all my money in this venture, which included all my life savings which I invested into this venture.   I saw it as a chance to retire early and live life to the full.   Again I have to say, Philmel is correct, the Spanish authotities killed off their own property market with thier greed!!     While I too was  fortunate to get my money back as I had a BG, but I have lost over 30K  in lost interest fees to the bank, and solicitors fees.    Though living in Spain is still my dream, the ACC fiasco has left a bitter taste in my mouth.  I not only lost my life savings, but suffered a relationship break up, a heart attack, a nervous breakdown, and an attempt at ending my own life,   all over HUMA and the horrible bastards that work for them with their never ending lies and false promises, telling us that 'Oh any day now the licence will be granted' and 'As God is my judge, you will be into your home by September'       That was 8 years ago.   They destroyed my life.

As for HUMA....If it does get built, and I think it will eventially, I'll make sure that my friends from Belfast will pay them a visit....Peace treaty or no peace treaty.....So Fuck them...May they rot in Hell .

That's an important point you make Thug, because if ACC ever does get built you will have a claim on the property / plot you were purchasing. I think you can place the 'bad debt' against it. The debt then passes with the property to the new purchaser .......... Any legal pros are welcome to comment that:

They will never be built, in my opinion.  The days of large developments is over and why would they grant a building licence?

Depends if, and when the Spanish market improves, the thing is, the land has been developed for building on so it is not being used as "agricultural", indeed there are already properties and roads there. Realistically I think this may be the only chance all the ACC buyers have of getting anything back. As I say earlier, IF ACC does get planning permission, we would all have a claim on the properties so it might be easier for us to be paid off......wishful thinking maybe be worth keeping tabs on I think.

Yes

we will all own a bit of anything they build if they ever do I think!!

But how will we ever know? I still drive up to the site sometimes and remember all the lies etc - still no horses or stables there!!

i remember the ACC site how friendly and helpful it was and also how busy.

There was a man whose sister was on the site who stayed in Spain and really tried to help vastly.

Hi d d, just read your October post. My wife and i were buying on ACC and we also ended up in Palomares. We  have been in the village for 2 1/2 year and  love the lifestyle. I'm sure our paths must have crossed at sometime but i don't recall anyone called Dan or is that just a nickname? Do you live here permanent or just holiday here? It would be nice to meet up for a drink and a reminisce some time if you fancy it!!!.

Hi all,

Was just browsing the tinternet when I had an urge to search ACC, don't know why really but what a surprise to find this thread!  So nice to see that some of us think about what might have been from time to time.

I'm so sad for those that are still fighting for the return of their money and hope with all my heart that this happens for them soon.

As for us...it took a while but we did dip our toe back into the water...we bought in Murcia in May 2010 and couldn't be happier, we have a lovely bungalow with a garden and roof terrace and communal pool right next door, we have been over many times as have our family and friends and we are enjoying every minute now that we have put the Huma saga behind us.

Oh and DD....the man who helped on the site who lived in Spain....we kept in touch with his Sister and her Husband, they now live in Spain not far from us so we see them from time to time, and I believe they also live near a chap I think it was Peter (Reidjp) if you recall? So we're all still here somewhere.

Best wishes to all

Kim and Kim

Hi All

i thought you might need to see this about Palomares.

1966 B-52 crash

The town is noted for an incident in 1966 where a B-52 Stratofortress of Strategic Air Command crashed, causing radiation contamination after its payload of nuclear bombs was ruptured. There were four thermonuclear bombs in the plane. The high-explosive igniters on two bombs detonated on impact, spreading radioactive material, including plutonium, over a wide area of the Spanish countryside. A third bomb landed relatively intact and was recovered. The fourth bomb landed in the Mediterranean Sea, and U.S. military searchers took months to find and recover the device intact. In 2001 CIEMAT detected higher levels of plutonium, uranium and americium than average over 24 acres of Palomares.[1]

Recent News letter and posting by Costa Luz Lawyers:

Great new Court Decission by Murcia Appeal Court, dated this last September 2011, which establishes that Banks are liable of the refund of all deposits paid in off plan purchases, when the contract is cancelled due to delay, regardless there was an individual certificate of Guarantee or not.

Just proving you make payments to a Bank account held by the developer, Banks need to refund you, with legal interests and legal costs, regardless they were into a special account or not.

So, if you were paid just the amounts corresponding to the individual certificate of Bank Guarantee which was effectively issued to you, just ask now for the refund of the rest of your deposits, which did not have certificates of Bank Guarantees.

Excellent new for many of our Murcia (and no Murcia) clients. Great understanding of Law 57/68 again. Case Law is advancing.

Is this the start of the beginning of the solution!!

Certainly a logical step in the right direction as the Banks knew exactly what they were doing but a settlement will take time as the Banks will probably appeal

*as regards Palomares the general view is that the problem has been solved and it is all safe...some still like to scare people!

Hi Les, thank you for your information regarding the radiation accident over Palomares. My wife and i knew all about this when we first embarked on our mission to purchase a property on ACC so we knew exactly what we were letting ourselves in for when we moved into the village 2 1/2 years ago. I must add that the village is a thriving agricultural community from new born babies to pensioners who are well into old age and i have yet to see anyone walking around after dark who is actually glowing green or any other colour for that matter. Produce grown in the countryside around the village is exported all over the globe and no one seems to be reporting any ill effects from radiation so may i suggest that if your article was meant to be a bit of scaremongering it has fallen on deaf ears.My wife and i are in our early sixties and are looking forward to a long and healthy life in the spanish sunshine in a lovely village on the shores of the mediterranean sea.

Dear Stephen and Judith,

I genuinely and sincerely am delighted that you have found a beautiful place in the sun.   its sounds like an absulute dream.   I honestly wish I was living there.   My input was not meant in any way to be scaremongering or anything like that, but when I bought in ACC, I walked into it totally blind.   Had I had the forsight to look into it the way I have now, I wouldnt have been in the mess I was, but hindsight is wonderful.   Palomares sounds wonderful, but dare i ask, and I mean no offence, but when you were buying there, did the property venders point out the past history of the matter of the radiation leaks.   If they did, and it were me buying, I would probably say no...and run a mile...But then thats me....If they said nothing...and after you found out....what would you do....?

Again...i am delighted with your happiness and wish you all the best for the future...I envy you...

Les.

PS:   You have me thinking about moving there...

Hi Les, sorry about being a bit tongue in cheek!! That;s my Yorkshire man coming out.

In answer to your question...we are renting a property in the village, we swore after ACC we would not get caught out again with dodgy house deals. Seven years ago it seemed a good idea to buy the property but now at our age we find we can put our money to better use i.e having a good retirement. I don't think these days you can be 100% with any property on the market, no matter who you employ among the legal fraternity to look into the ins and outs.

Regarding the air disaster, if there is anything in the surrounding areas it would probably take 20 years to catch up with us by which time i would be too old to worry about it..ha ha.

If by chance you ever get to Palomares you will have to look us up, we usually frequent the Dulce Casa in the village centre near the farmacia. It is run by Brian and Lesley and is the best food in the village, they have our phone number.

Best wishes,   Steve and Judith.

Dear Steve and Judith,

Again, your place sounds wonderful and it has got me thinking...Can you tell me, who you went through to buy...Was it a vendor or in a complex and what lawyer did you use....

Les

Hi Les, as i said in the post, we did not buy we decided to rent and put our money to better use. There are a lot of legal builds in the village which are for sale due to various circumstances such as people returning to the U.K for family or financial reasons and some are at excellent knock down prices. We found our property by staying in the village for our holidays and walking round the area looking down all the various streets to look for estate agents signs. If you need any more advice or want to come and have a look we have met many people who let appartments and i could perhaps sort you something out !

                                                                        Regards, Steve.
