Hi All,

I have had my details registered with PW since the start but always put it off, things have changed and am now thinking of getting on a flight to view and buy a 2 bedroom property.

A few quick questions if i may and id appreciate honest answers.

How many of the apartments are still empty?

What nationality are the majority of owners?

Is the golf course looked after/in good condition/ challenging?

What is the social scene like (very important)?

I have a young family is this resort suitable? Yes i like my golf and the sun but will the children get bored in the nights or are there alot of other young children around?

Hopefully see you all for a pint or 10 soon!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance for any guidance. I got ripped off in Bulgaria in the boom and cant go down that route again.

Cheers

Ian

 1) about 600  but sales are on the increase

2) mixture of british approx 50%  norwegian  15% and spanish 25% plus 10% others is my guestimate

3) golf course is in excellent condition, and many regard it as one of the best on the costa calida and costa blanca

Play it off the whites for the challenge of a lifetime and some of the best golfcourse views in spain.!

all we need now is a clubhouse but a temporary one is in the planning stages with a full clubhouse to be started down the line hopefully.

4) social scene has picked up with the reopening of the clover ( mainly adults  but with pool , darts and 3 sports tvs and the condado club bar which has a games room for kids. there are loads of kids here in the school  holidays  with plenty of activities being organised  . there is a soccer pitch and there are games organised, 2 tennis courts 6 paddle tennis courts and a 5 aside soccer pitch and a basketball court on same.

the condado club has an excellent raange of food and tapas and decent prices.

a new restaurant  next to the clover should be re opening soon .

Ian,

Social scene in CdA is limited if you are comparing it to other places with multiple bars and restaurants.  But the advantage is its very sociable as everyone congregates at the same spots.

The golf course is fantastic.  Needs time to develop the areas between fairways and holes.  The fairways are kept well and the contours of the course and the scenery is top notch.  But for me the thing that stands out are the greens.  They are big, undulating, difficult, and at the same time the best greens I've ever played on.  I have a love hate relationship with the greens.  Great joy when you sink a few tempered by disbelief when you misread a 6 footer!!

Not a hotbed of activity but a great place to relax, enjoy the sun, the golf, and the very cheap local wine.

Shane

Hi Ian

Sorry to hear about you experience in Bulgaria. We too thought about it but strangely I met a young woman in a very nice restaurant her in the UK who was from Bulgaria & she advised me to keep our money in the bank

We have no regrets about our purchase on Condado & have a two bed in Jardin 5

We have met & made friends with many people from a variety of countries including the UK

We are over again this Sunday for two weeks & cannot wait

It might be a good idea to think about  "Trying before buying" there are many owners who rent out as we do

Either way I wish you all the best

Jan

www.condadodealhamaservices.com is reporting that a new restaurant will open in Al Kasar on 1st April. Bulgarian and Pizza- owners already have a place on Camposol.

That´s really good news if true. We were at the opening night of the Clover last night and clearly witnessed that demand for proper services delivered with higher customer care than was previously delivered by the Spanish owners of the restaurant will attract custom. The Bulgarian on Camposol is not bad as a restaurant,  it would be great if we could attract the owners of Bali Hai as well!!

There is clearly sufficient foot fall now between the months of May and September to make businesses viable if they are priced appropriately. A short season will work if lease costs are kept low. My wife was thinking that a pampering  - nail salon - hair dressers - spa and gym type of place would go down well in one of the bigger units - especially if non residents were encouraged to use the facilities. Any body with a big wallet fancy trying that enterprise??
