Red Palm Weevil

Question for the presidents,

I have just been reading on Simply Networking about this red palm weevil that is killing all the local palm trees and how difficult it is to combat it. Are our trees in danger? if so are we doing anything or planning to do anything to stop it.

I have asked the question of the Administrator who will ask the Gardeners., I know our plants and grass and trees are treated and sprayed at regular intervals but being an engineer i could not tell you what for although it is specified when its done in the Statutes.

Reassuring to know they have got a handle on it, but from what I read and I am no expert, we have to remain vigilant as once it gets a foothold it seems very difficult to control and eventually it will kill all the trees, which would then become very costly for the community as a whole.
