Photos posted from our visit on Friday 26 January.  Mostly of top back row and some distance shots.

As you drive along the access road leaving the development, the new Consum can be seen across the wasteland to your right and is located just off the island opposite KeyMare's office.  It is also right next to the water park.

We stayed on Residencial and there is what looks like the beginnings of an access road between the existing Andalus developments and Thalassa.  There is also a great Mercadona supermarket right by Residencial selling loads of cheap chocolate, perfume and booze.

Prior to our visit, temps were up to 20 degrees.  However, it rained almost non stop from our arrival thursday evening until departure this morning.  Severe high winds too.  There is a street market in Vera on saturday mornings which is worth a visit.  Almeria airport has the benfit of being quick and easy to get through and the runway is right next to the sea.

Ursula in the aftersales office is still saying July (probably) for Phase I but no definite date yet.  However, everyone (including our agent and solicitor) said DO NOT BOOK FLIGHTS until date has been confirmed by several reliable sources.  Unfortunately, it looks as though completion will coincide with the most expensive time of year to book flights!

Our most recent information in January was that it was likely to be end of June when we could take ownership of our duplex on phase 1. Petra explained that it would not be realistic for everyone to be given the same time/month as it would be impracticable for so many people to all moving in at the same time!  Similarly the Notary would neither be willing nor able to comply.

I think this may be why we are all being told different months.  However,  I am unsure specifically how they are basing their selection of  who moves at what time.

Although disappointing at the delay - still very excited and looking forward to eventually being there!

Hi there.  I've also bought on Phase 1, block 20 - a duplex and have been told by Keymare that the probable date for completion would be mid-June.  This was by telephone at the end of January as I hadn't heard anything from them.  Today we received an update through the post which showed a picture of our block and what's been completed.  Needless to say, it's way off completion.  I am really keen to find out exactly how they hand over the properties but can't seem to get a straight answer - it's very frustrating.  The later it goes on, the less time we'll get to spend at the place during the summer.  I, too, am still very excited and can't wait to take ownership.

Just in case you were'nt aware, when we went over last July our Block (20) was just a hole in the ground as they had used it for access to the site. All other blocks were up at this time. The latest photos we had from Keymare show significant progress.

It would appear we are all built the only things left to do are the furnitire and finishings and the facilities, pool etc.

The picture we have was taken on the 2/2/07.

We are going out in March to check on progess.

We went out last October and Block 20 was miles behind the other blocks (as mentioned below) but was making progress and I do have pictures if anyone wants to see them.  Our agent has informed us that things are really moving on a pace and has sent through some great updated pictures from the beginning of the month.  I'd be happy to share those with anyone who'd like to see them. E-mail me at d.glover@ftel.co.uk.  Debbie

We are pleased to inform you that the handing over process of Al Andalus Thalassa is getting closer and this is also the reason why we are sending you this letter to announce the planning of the approximate dates for the inspection visit and for completion at the notary.

As shown in the hereto-attached document the handing over procedure will take place in order of blocks as indicated by the Constructor.

The inspection visits start as from the 1st of May and finish on the 13th of July, 2007. Each block will have a determined week in which the inspection visit will be carried out. You will receive an invitation to above mentioned visit in due course.

Considering the large amount of apartments to be handed over it is impossible to change the dates for the inspection visits. We hope you understand the need to comply with the attached time schedule.

The dates for completion are planned between the 15th of June and the 6th of September, 2007. Later you will receive the necessary information from our Commercial Administration Department. Due to the magnitude of the Thalassa complex and to the bureaucratic procedures, we are obliged to organize the completion by blocks according to the order stated on the attached schedule.

Once again we repeat that the dates are APPROXIMATE and shortly we will send additional information with regard to the inspection visit and completion procedures.

Looks like they are almost finished!!!

We have a duplex in blockk 22 and have received our date for inspection but we are away for most of that week.  We are trying to get them to commit to one particular day as we can fly out and back the same day.  If we are unable to do this is there anyone else out from our block that week that could inspect on our behalf?

Hi Christine, we're in the same position - trying to get a firm date for flights.  Our agent has offered to do the inspection on our behalf - if you've bought through an agent, it may be worth seeing if they'd offer the same service.  They should do considering they'll be getting commission on the sale.  Debbie

Thank you for the advice - however our agent has not been very helpful to date, we have had no contact with him for over a year!

Still hoping we will get a positive  response from Key Mare in resply to our email to them asking for the particular day in our allotted week when we could fit it in - we need to be booking our flights asap. To date we have not had an acknowledgement.  They have been very good up to now so we are still hopeful.

It is rather frustrating to say the least - having come this far and we just can't finalise arrangements - hate being out of control!!

Visited last week and have uploaded latest pictures.  Must say it looks a long way off finished as you can see!!

Some good news is that the new motorway opened last week from Cartegena to Vera just over an hours journey. The toll is 11euros.

Other good news is the new IKEA at Murcia.

Inspected 4th June Block 20 phase 1. Have posted 5 pics of pool area from our apartment.  Still a lot to do round the pool, and the spa seems a long way off from completion. The wall in front of the pool area is a bit of an eyesore, wasn't expecting such a high wall, must be nearly 6 feet.  Apart from that things are looking good and looking forward to complete. They say approx 5 weeks after inspection. We'll see!
