Hi All

I believe that there has been flooding again around Duquesa , could anyone who is out there on the complex tell me if the pool by blocks 5 / 6  has once again filled up with soil running down the steps into the childs pool, as this seems to happen every time there is heavy rain while we where out there at Easter they where putting a new  pump in for the pool as it had burnt out due to the soil in the water, I hope the same thing has not happened again.

Would like to say hi to all the people we met at the Barbie just sad we had to leave early to catch our filght, roll on July when we are out again.

Regards

Robbie / Barbara

It rained from Wednesday to Sunday, constant rain all day long.  Yes the pool did fill up to floor level with the constant rain and once it met the floor it filled up with mud.  But they are in process of cleaning it.

Hi Laurdan,

Thank you for the information regarding the pool I gathered that would happen , it will never be any different untill they carry out the drainage in front of it, as the agreed at the last  AGM. But I guess they have pushed that to the back of the things that need doing list (which must be getting longer every week). Sorry to here you have had bad weather while out there hope you  get some good days before you come home(If you can get home with this ash cloud) as there is nothing more depressing than going out there and having bad weather as we found out the 18 days we had out there over Xmas /New Year rained every day.

Hope by the time you read this you are laying in the sun with a nice glass of wine by your side.

Cheers

Robbie.

Well, what can we say about the weather, bit of a wash out for us this easter.  After finding our flight had been cancelled Saturday, we made the decision to drive home (after just having brought the car out to retire in Spain).  One good thing about the holiday was bringing that car.  We left Sunday morning in torrential rain, driving towards Malaga with the wipers in overdrive.

Never the less, the scenery driving through Spain was amazing and we arrived in Calais late last night. All exhausted, but kids back to school.

Pleased for you Sue that the sun has come out,  The airlines now back in operation, and thank goodness our adventure over until the Summer...........cant wait. See you all soon

We did eventually get some sun, but this winter has been the worst winter in Spain since I should imagine time began. Out of 10 days we had there this time we only had about 4 nice days, the rest were constant rain, this was relentless rain and Spain is the same as the UK when it rains....miserable!

Due to the Vocanic Ash we were delayed by 3 days and we had our flight changed from Gib to Malaga. We used the bus service to get to Malaga and I can recommend the service. It arrived on time outside the Supersol in Sabbi. It was a direct bus to Malaga Bus station stopping only once at each town (main bus station) in Estepona, Marbella, Fuengirolla and Benalmadena ( 4 stops). It took just under 2 hours in an air conditioned coach and cost 8 euros each. We arrived at Malaga early so we had a picnic on the beach, then we looked around the shops, two really good shopping centers near to the bus station, they even have a few shops we all recognise ie The Body Shop, Claire’s Accessories, H&M and Zara from memory.  There is a hopper bus from Malaga to the airport that takes about 10 mins and costs 1 euro.   So for just under 10 euros you can get from Malaga airport to Sabbi very easily.

HI,

We agree with everything Tracy has put in here last post  I feel that there is not a lot we can do regarding the lorry park if they are insured and taxed they can park where the like as long as they are not causeing an obstruction and with that side of the road being like a lay by they are not blocking the road , even though they are an eye sore, with regard to the maintainance on the complex the only work being done is the gardens , If you recall at the last AGM it was stated that once all the main contractors had left site then they would repair all the broken steps / lights and do all the other things that where outstanding  as far as I know the main contractor left some while ago , and still there are no repairs being done  since the last AGM the pool by block 5/6 has burnt out 2 pumps due to the soil being washed down yet over a year ago it was agreed that they would fit a drain in front of the small childrens pool to  stop this happening, but it seems they would rather spend money on new pumps than solve the problem.

Tracy you are right the stupid little outlets on the balcony are no use at all they just send the water to the apartment below , I cannot see how they can cure this problem unless the run a rainwater pipe from the outlet so the it over hangs the balcony ,I do not think they will do this because they will not do the simple maintainance as it is ,

Margo , you say we should take action and see if we can force them to carry out the maintainance but I don't see what we could do it's not as if we could withhold are  fees as we are not paying any at present , I think the only thing we could do is for everybody on the complex including the Spanish to bombard Jaun Santos with E/Mails listng all the faults that we find wrong on the complex and keep on sending them untill he gets things done,

We feel that this complex is never going to be finished at first we said that it would take a couple yaers to finally complete and have it looking like it should be, but now I wonder if this dream is going to turn into a night mare if only they would start doing the things the are surpose to do I know things take time out there but the pools have been open for some time and I don't think any of the showers have worked or if they have it was only for a short time. How can they possibly hope to sell to new buyers if things are not working or maintained if you where a buyer walking around and you see broken steps/ lights / paint peeling and that is to say nothing about the roads around the complex would you buy on there, I am not trying to run the complex down as I still feel if we can get things sorted it will be one the best in the area it is just that at present it seems not to be moving forward but just standing still and that is such a shame,

Robbie / Barbara

Hi Margo,

The name as far as I can rember is Arenal Duquesa Phase One or could be no 1. but it seems no one use's that sit as Tracy highlighted in her last post on it .

I am at a loss to how we can get hold of all the owners and get them all talking as one as it seems to be the same people who post on the web no sure if the other owners know about the web or just can not be bothered.

Cheers

Robbie/ Barbara
