Street Lights and speeding issues Senorio de Punta Prima/Gomendio development

I live at La Entrada full time. Quite a few of you know me personally.

I thought you would all be interested. For the last year I have been chasing the Mayor of Torrevieja Snr Mateo about the street lights and traffic. Finally today I have had a letter for the Chief of Police stating that new signage and more Police presence will be available in Avda de Las Olas in due course.

Furthermore, he has now also supported the request to do something about the street lights. Out of 180 street lights on our development less than 15% currently work.

I am a partner in a legal firm here and I have asked the Director of Legal to keep on top of this with the head of Services Department of Torrevieja Council as it is a serious safety issue for us .

I suppose it would be nice to have a higher police presence in the area, as you know Gerard, I overlook  the sea front and it not unusual to see police patrol cars down there, what would be nice is if they would actually enforce the no entry signs and stop cars from driving and parking on the promenade. It would not matter if there was a police officer on every street corner but if they don’t enforce the laws, then they are just a burden on the suma payer

While I would concur that street lighting is an issue, one of the things I do like about the lights not working on the sea front is that they would actually spoil the view of the night sky. Also at night it is possible to watch the fishing fleet out at sea, lights on the promenade would also put an end to that show.

These are of course a very personal view point.
