Hello.

La Recoleta is a great place, quality and exclusive place to live.

I live in UK, but use my place in La Recoleta regularly.

On my recent visit, i have to raise these issues which need to be sorted:

Why are the doors entering the complex from the road left open ?

This is security problem and although i have seen them walk around the complex, they should be checking and closing these doors. It seems they are not doing this.

Some block doors are being left open still. I have noticed some doors not shutting complete or being wedged open. Security officers should be checking these too. They are not.

People are taking food and drink to the pool. I'm not too bothered about the food, but why are people taking glass bottles. If one bottle breaks, we are in the shit. Children and us adults can be hurt. So why are people doing this.

Towels are still hanging from balconies. On my visit i have seen many many balconies with not only towels, but also bedsheets and quilts hangin right off. Yes, quilts too ! What a disgrace. I believe the president is not bothered with this issue, but it still needs to be addressed otherwise the complex will turn into a shoddy crap apt block like the ones in Torrevieja. We do not want that since this is a higher-grade complex, not riff-raff crap. Notices in variant languages have been stuck on block doors to tell people not to do this, but still they ignore the rules.

The president does not want to resolve these issues - then he must go ! immediately, lets get another pro-active president in place to run community rules.

Also- security officers should be authorised to tell people not to bring glass bottles, and also tell people they should not hang clothes/towels/bed linen over the balconies. If they cannot do this, then lets vote to cancel our services with this security company and get another who can do this. Afterall, they're not even checking doors closed from roadside.

I also think that apt owners should be gven fixed penalties of 25euros if crap is hanging over their balconies. The main problem is people who give out to rent and do not inform their tenants of the basic rules. So, if the president takes a picture os the abuse, and then gives a penalty to the onwer (not tenat), then eventually the owner will realise they must ensure they advise tenants of these rules. Simple. So simple. You see, when a few hang crap over, others see this and do the same, so it needs to be sorted out now in its infancy.

Infact, if the president looks away from enforcing these rules, then whats the use with having rules. We may aswell just tell everyone to do what they want. Rules MUST be enforced. Either the we should get security to do this, or pay for one person who will be pro-active and enforce the rules across the whole complex. Very easy.

Lets keep the quality good here.

Any suggestions welcome.

regards,

J.C.

Yes JC

I totally agree, doors - security - behaviour at the pool - towels etc. hanging over the balconies are some of the issues which have to be addressed.

What are the roles and responsibilities of our security officers?

We may be expecting too much from the president but what has happened since last years AGM.

I was under the impression there was going to be a one way system in our underground parking area. Not much has happened on that front.

Any update on our neighbour who was ordered to remove his glass curtains, then a slight change of heart. What about our elected committee? Has there been any meetings, has minutes been taken?

Why bother with an AGM?

Seems we wasted our time making the effort to attend last year.

That’s me had my moan ... now how can we improve things?    ...  Suggestions welcome

Hi

I rent long term in Blq 2 of La Recoleta, and on Sunday evening, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm I had my bike stolen from the garage.  This wasn't an opportune theft, as they came equipped with bolt cutters to cut through my bike lock.  We had two bikes chained together, but they only chose to steal one of them!  One assumes that as all the security doors are continually being left open into the complex, that the thief was able to gain access into one of the blocks and enter the garage.

I have never understood why people find it so difficult to close these doors, even the garage doors (which have signs on asking to keep them closed) are left open.  This made it very easy for the thief to exit the complex with my bike.

I had hoped with all the CCTV cameras around, the thief might have been spotted leaving the complex, but I haven't heard anything from the security guards, so assume that wasn't possible.  Even if it was carried out in the back of a car, I had hoped they might have been able to spot it.  Obviously that's not going to happen now, so I'll just have to save up for another one.

It's too late for me, but I really think something should be done about the open door situation.  I regularly visit friends in La Entrada, and I can never get in via an open door, I always have to buzz.  If they can do it, why can't we?

Thanks

OC

Hello OC,

very similar user id OC and JC ;-)

Anyway, i am very sorry to hear about your loss. This has been my concern and to be honest i am not surprised.

This really needs to be sorted out. I do think that our contract with the present security company needs to be looked at and if necessary 'terminated'.

With all the cameras around, what the hell were the security officers doing ? sleeping ?

I have repeatedly seen block doors left open, black doors from road entry left open too. I too am baffled why poeple cannot shut the doors, its for all our safety.

Please make sure you report your crime to the President and Gesfin in writing, and Gomendio too.

Hello Johnspc

Please dont say theres no power to enforce the rules..... because there are.

When each owner sign at the notary, they were specifically told that the Community had rules which had to be adhered to, and we signed for this also. So, part of the these issues are within those Community Rules.

I just wish i had more time to be in Spain and i would love to sort these issues out. But i can't.

I think it would be a good idea to employ one or two people who will continually work 2 shifts to patrol La Recoleta and enforce the rules (without being a cunt) in which i mean, try TALKING to people, then issue written notice, followed by final fine.

What would that cost us ? not much i'm sure.

We need to press on with the issue with Security, if they cannot handle it, then should GO !!!

Another idea, is that we have a website, where our Committee members name are with contact (not personal private details) just email contact will do, and on the website also minutes of meetings and things to do etc So we can all have some sort of centralised input.

Any further thoughts pls.

Hi OC

Like Johnpc, I am really sorry to hear your bike vanished from our garage. I have always had concerns regards our security.

We are our own worst enemies at times but the report of an actual theft really brings the problem to a head.

I will be on site next week and I plan to make inroads on a full report of all thefts at La Recoleta, maybe there have been other incidents.

JC give us time and don't think this is the time and place to be saying things about the outgoing president. I know having spoken to him in lenght what he has been through and he deserves our thanks for what he did during his period as president, it is a thankless task and if the owners of La Recoleta want to see changes for the better they must get behind the new president and the committee.

Nothing has been published yet from the AGM, Chritine, the new president needs time to setle in to the Job, I wish her and the rest of the committe well in what is an onerous job, I trust that over the next 11 months we will see improvements to all our advantage.
