Can anyone recommend any of the car hire firms available at Murcia Airport. I looked at some of the reviews available and a lot of them seem to get poor reviews.

Thanks for any comments given

Jolly Jack

Hi Jolly Jack,

We have used Auriga Crown, through Do You Spain in: May, July and Aug (returned last week) and they have always been OK, although I have to say there appeared to be a lot rumours around about people being left stranded. Each time though our booking went through OK and there was no problems at the Murcia end.

Not sure if they are the cheapest but as the holiday traffic starts to wind down might be wortwhile checking two or three differents sites to see where you can get the best deal. I think it is well known now that the recent car hire prices have been "artficially" high, due supposedly to a lack of cars caused by the economic situation. However, we all need to try and make sure the the car hire operators don't see this as a good opportunity to keep prices high: by looking around for the most competive prices!

We have also used Auriga Crown about 5 times in the last year and they have always been excellent.  We too were very worried about our mid August rental having seen all the negative reports.  Happily we had another good experience with them and plan to use them again on our next visit.

Try www.summitcarhire.com it's a search engine that finds the best deals after you put in your requirements, airport, type of car, pick up point etc and usually comes back with a good deal.

Cheers

Hi,

You could try the one that advertises on EOS, Argus Car hire, we've used them a couple of times with no hitches, the advantage is there are no queues to wait in at the airport desk and the car is brought to you.  This is good if you are arriving at night and don't want to be spending a lot of time searching a dark carpark for your designated vehicle.

Good luck with whatever you choose

Ali

We usually book via Holiday Auto's which gives you a choice of different vehicles at competative prices (checked among the car hire providers in the airport) when you book online for San Javier. www.holidayautos.co.uk

Would definitely recommend Auriga Crown (booked through Do You Spain)

Always been happy with them and just got back from using them again.

Got a diesel car when I booked a petrol (big bonus as Diesel is currently only 94 cents per litre), didnt have to pay for fuel as the car was 1/4 tank full and they just asked me to return it with the same amount in.

Best of all, dropped the car back at the airport for our 12.35 flight (or so we thought) only to find Jet2 had moved the flight back to 16.00. Then found ourselves with 3 hours to kill and the kind people at Auriga agreed to give me the car back for a few hours so we could drive into Los Alcazres for lunch - top service
