Thought I would report back following my personal experiences on Corvera having stayed on site for just over a month.

On arrival I found the Gas and water were still not connected to the apartment even though nearly three weeks had elapsed since completion, an immediate problem especially with 2 kids in tow.  Asked were I was staying I raised an eyebrow and said in the apartment I had paid for.  This caused a little astonishment amongst staff who within 15 minutes of the problem arriving had organised the family to stay on Roda free of charge for 4 nights, therefore problem overcome.  The aftersales team then went into overdrive organising so said utilities and in the event we only needed to stay on Roda for a couple of nights before all was sorted.

During my stay the snagging was more or less completed which was pleasing to see the efficiency shown to the list of faults.

One of the faults on the snagging list was a blocked drain on a balcony, unfortunately a heavy thunderstorm came before this was resolved and the bedroom balcony was flooded in the morning.  Took a couple of pictures down to the customer services department and within the hour a builder was exploring the drain and fixing the issues.  Fortunately water did not enter the apartment.

The biggest bug bear when we arrived was the fact the pools near us were not clean, only pools in the mountain block or near the new sales office where usable, this meant a few more trips to the beach then expected. A couple of weeks in the pools were ready for use making a big difference to the holiday atmosphere.

The golf course is greening up all the time with greens themselves looking fantasic as is the practice area, already commented on by Steveandjane on a previous thread, good to see you both out and keep wearing those rose tinted specks Steve!! With the golf course not open several trips were made to Roda when showing your owners card got you free golf and buggy so again not a bad deal. The amount of workers on the golf course did surprise me on one day counting nearly 50 gardeners alone, I like most golfers would rather the course establish itself first rather then opening too early, therefore I would not be expecting to play at Corvera until February at the earliest.

I have mentioned in a previous post that the clubhouse is under construction and at quite a rate if the arrival of concrete lorries is concerned, however putting my realist hat on I would give that to Easter at the earliest, I hope I am wrong but time will tell.

Sports facilities are open and are at present free of charge, only in the week though when staff are in the offices, they are closed at weekends.  This does mean you need to stock up on golfing tokens before the weekend if you want to practice - again though this was all free of charge.

A small shop will be opening in the next month or two but no fixed date as yet

What was extremely pleasing was meeting fellow Corverians discussing any issues they had during the completion and snagging process.

Dust did tend to get in most places but no more then expected when buying on early phases of any development, but outside tables did need a clean before most meals.

I hope this shows that issues do arise but hopefully for those visiting in the next few weeks all pools should be open, even the shop.

I know this forum tends to have two camps the investors and lifestyler, as you know I am a lifestyler.  I did keep asking the question of would I be able to rent this apartment out at the immediate time and the answer was no.  Without the golf course and clubhouse as a minimum the site does not offer the option for rental - golfers may as well stay on Roda, from that point of view I do have sympathy for the invester amongst the forum.

As a lifestyle user although I experienced early issues they were dealt with extremely professionlly and quickly by all the team at Corvera.  At the end of my 4 weeks 2 days on site did I want to leave for the airport?  No not a chance - looking forward for the next visit.

I will upload some photos in the next day or so.

I am really pleased to read your comments as I have found that as we are going around checking properties that the snagging is being done slowly but surely which is probably normal considering the time of year

Unfortunatley the utility connections seem to be taking longer than most of us would like, especially the gas, again this could possibly be down to the holiday period  and Corvera will tell you that they will chase but it is out of their control

It is also a good idea to tell the office when you will be arriving

I now that tis is seen as being unreasonable but we always advise people to allow 6 weeks between from the date but we always tell people to allow 6 weeks between the date they complete and the date that they first use the property , and before anybody comments that yiu still have a mortgage t pay, this is normal for most developments

The heavy rain exposed a number of issues and one thing that we notice is that on the penthouse properties, where the walkways are open, they have installed door thresholds as presumably some water must have enetered some properties

On the rental front I stand by my comments that it will be difficult to, in th early phases of the development, to rent these properties and most renters will be fellow buyers and people completing on the development but so far more than 20 people that we have inspected properties for have completed and been happy with what they have seen
