For all info relating to golf at Roda visit

http://www.rodagolfcourse.com/

The current " Rack rate" is a very reasonable 45 euros until 15th Sep thereafter up to 65 euros, they are still offering even cheaper twilight deals and perhaps free buggies at certain times.

As an owner I believe you should be entitled to 30% discount for yourself and up to 3 guests, show your your owners card, but you could check with pro shop, email

golfcourse@rodagolf.com

If you and your friends are ever considering playing other courses and there are some good ones, in the area visit www.clubmurcia.com for discounted green fees, reviews and directions to all Murcia courses inc a 75 euro fee at La Manga reduced from a silly 190.

Once again all details on golf can be found on rodagolfcourse.com website inc tournaments.

There is a Murcia Amiga Challenge Comp on 22nd August which is a round of a popular local Challenge taking place at different courses.

You would need to contact the Proshop to find out if it is open to all and what entry fee is. There would normally be a small entry fee plus green fee to be paid for all comps, especially as many inc a meal afterwards, Proshop can give you details.

For Competition Golf, there is a regular Members, Owners and Guests comp on the first Saturday of each month and social tournaments every Tues, Thurs and Sat morns at around 8.30 am, put your name down at the proshop and join in with the others playing on the day, cost is minimal. Handicap certificates are preferred and Course Slope adjustment is made.

To clear up discounts

I have the original Roda Golf marketing blurb and unless things have changed which I doubt, the discounts were

40% for Rights Holders and guests they play with plus other benefits such as annual fees, priority tee times, golf club storeage etc.         30% for Rights Holders tenants.

30% for Owners and I assume their guests, plus hotel guests, when open. Show your Owners card.

20% for Owners tenants

For tenants to get discounts, owners need to advise the Proshop or Customer Services to get temp card when they are playing or visiting.

Restrictions on times for players above 26 handicap for men and 34 for women are in place but are rarely used.

Full rate for General public, although the public can get discounted deals through ClubMurcia.com and Murcia-Golf.co.uk

Just heard from Roda regarding renters discount.

Golf Right's holders 40% discount all other owners 20%, renters must have form from owners saying that they agree. You get the form from the pro-shop or the office.

Just to add to the confusion: I had an email last year from Geraldine (who is no longer at Roda) confirming that the 40% golf right holder's discount applies to anyone staying in our apartment. Our friends, recently returned, did receive it. I had given them the rental form, ticking the box stating we are golf right holders. Do hope the goal posts haven't been moved! Regards, Shelagh.

we, as owners, have always had a 30% discount.

this was always our understanding from the begining.

Maybe not quite the right thread but people have asked about golf packages previously and I was interested to see this site

http://www.golfbreaks.com/la-torre/default.aspx

Very competitive deals at Polaris resorts over the winter months

Hi all,I have played Rodagolf numerous times as an owner without golf rights and the discount I recieved was 20%. I recently was looking at other courses in the area and on a development called La peraleja they say that they have an agreement with Rodagolf that golf rights owners(from La Peraleja) can play at Roda for 40 euro greenfee. If the advertised greenfee at Roda is 65 euro that means these people are getting a better deal than us. Also, has anybody else experienced a lack of buggies when playing at Roda. The last time we were there (october) I booked the teetimes about 3 weeks in advance but was told that no buggies were available on any of the three days that we played.   Regards Des

This has been discussed at length previously and you need to speak to the Pro Shop but discount for owners was always and should be 30% off the current public rate, which I think at present is 55 euros.  20% is the discount for your tenants.

The trouble in Spain, because most courses are effectively pay and play, the public rates vary depending on the season, Roda goes between 45 and 65. Also agents and societies can negotiate different rates for the number of golfers they can introduce. It is possible to get discounted golf fees at a number of online sites. Outsiders can currently play Roda for 49 going down to 39 on 1st Dec.

All this means that green fees in Spain can be about as confusing as Network Rail Train prices over here.

Perhaps you can also ask the Pro Shop if we have reciprocal arrangements with Peraleja as it is a nice course and the best deal I have seen online is 58euros against an official rate of 90

Fraid I haven't noticed shortage of buggies as I prefer to walk a flat course unless height of summer.

Hi,

I have always been given 30% when showing owners card. Played last week for 39 Euros, plus same price for up to another 3 players. Did have a problem during August with buggy, failed to book one even though they were FREE with 2 green fees so didn't get one until after 9th hole on one of the hottest days of the year!!

Mike
