We are in block 8 and recently have had a problem with the kitchn worktop where the sink is, the problem is the hole for the sink has been cut out leaving an approx 2" piece of marble along the front of the sink. What has happened when some friends stayed there is with minimal weight it cracked the marble in two places (wll load photo up onto forum pics as finding it hard to attach to this thread).
After investigation it was found that there was no support whatsoever under this part of the marble top, we have had a temporary repair done i.e. supported underneath and the cracks filled. I have been told by our cleaner after investigation in other apartments she has found 5 more with same problem.
I have sent this to Jose for AGM as I will not be able to attend but it is obviously a design problem you do not leave a thin piece of marble like that without any support in UK there would be MDF underneath the whole of the marble top to give it support.
I suggest everybody looks at there own if it is not crcked get it supported in someway before it does for us who have cracked tops have asked Jose to discuss with builder.
