Hi Skell

just read the age thing & read your comments re Water Park

We did see something on the suitcase trollies in Murcia airport but did not bother to take down any details

I presume you know where it is

Any info would be greatfully recieved.

We are over as of the 20th of this month for 2 weeks with an almost 11yr old who will need to be kept occupied.

Thanks
jan

Hi Jan

There is a Water Park next to Terra Natura in Murcia City, near the University.

Just off the AP7, about 30-40 minutes drive from Condado

www.terranatura.com

I am heading out on 12 June for ten nights and would love to visit Terranatura. Has anyone been? If so, would you happen to have directions from Condado??

Thanks

(Paul, I haven't heard about a water park coming to Mazzaron, but that would be deadly!!)

Hi

We went to Terra Natura in March - it rained continually but we had the park to ourselves !

It was quite reasonably priced to get in and although it sells itself as a Ecological Park, it is effectively a zoo. Some of the animals dont have a great deal of space to roam around (lions and hippo in particular) but I'd like to think they are well looked after. It is set in an African theme and has a serengeti landscape running through it.

There are bird of prey displays (weather permitting) and otter feeding. You can get quite close to the animals - we literally had a giraffe breathing down our necks.

There is a very nice bar with great views over the park and Murcia city

If you join the AP7 from Condado head towards Murcia, as you approach the city you will pass the University on your right (large impressive building which stands out). I think it is the next exit (136?) and then Terra Natura is well signposted

Hi Paul

Yes, you are right there is a planning application for a water park near the back entrance to Country Club.  We have a bungalow also at MCC and found this information out last time we were out in April.  Any objections had to be filed by the 16th of May ( or thereabouts).  Although many residents are not apposed to such a park, but the access route to it, as we feel visitors will use MCC as a short cut to the park as we do not have restrictions to the site as we do at Polaris.

Apart from the water park and zoo at Murcia, there is also a water park at Vera, http://www.aquavera.com or a little further a field you could try Benidorm, where there is a theme park (http://www.terramiticapark.com) and a large water park not to far away either.

Just found this on the web :-

CountryClub501.jpg
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, with some of the residents from the Country Club Urbanisation
Mazarrón Mayor Meets Country Club Residents

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya and the Town Councillor for the Attention of Foreign Residents, Jacqueline Gálvez, met with residents of the Country Club Urbanisation last week.

The meeting, which included four representatives from the Community of Owners and two members of the Neighbours Association on the urbanisation, was called so that discussions could take place on several issues regarding the urbanisation.

Amongst the subjects discussed at the meeting was the urbanisation’s green areas. The residents asked the Mayor for more green areas and for them to be maintained by the Town Hall. They also asked that the Town Hall take on the job of cleaning and maintaining the streets and pavements in the urbanisation. Another subject close to the hearts of the residents, is that of the proposed water park, due to be built close to the estate. They asked Snr Blaya if he could tell them exactly where the proposed aquatic park, which is being developed by a private company, will be built.  The Mayor told them that he would get all the information from the Town Hall and report back to them when he could verify exactly where the park will be located.

The residents also asked Snr Blaya if it would be possible to install CCTV cameras on the urbanisation to make it safer and also if they can introduce control points on the access routes into the urbanisation, situated in the countryside close to Mazarrón. The Mayor indicated that they will have to officially apply for this and follow the application rules laid down by the law. He also added that would also have to request authorisation from the Murican Regional Government.
