Fruitpickers

We have just returned from Condado and had a great time.

Interestingly the 2 bed apartment next to ours is for sale/rent.  Its unfurnished with no lights/fixtures/fittings etc.  During our stay some Eastern Europeans arrived and started using the apartment (all we could see being brought in was a tv, a plug in radiator and clothing).  They leave early each morning and return at 4pm....shower and sit outside the front door chatting, smoking and drinking until about 9 (not excessively loud or anything), at which point they go to bed and you hear nothing until the next morning (maybe because they have limited lighting in the apartment).  I have seen about 15-20 different people and I am thinking about 6 are using this apartment.  (I am pretty relieved the makeshift curtain of a "cannabis" towel has been taken down from the window).   Now I'm back at home I wonder what impact this will have on rentals  and overall desirability of the resort.

I tried to engage with them with "hola" and "hello" but for the most part they do not want to be involved and at times it can be quite menacing (I am not sure I saw a smile from them).

As a positive, they do seem to keep themselves to themselves and are not disturbing anyone or anything - although it would be great if the dog in Jardin 8 didn't bark at 6:30am when they are leaving....a dog barking alarm call I would prefer when I have to get up for work rather than on holiday!

I know someone expressed concern about this a while ago (did it happen at La Torre?) and so thought I'd post....and I am hoping you give me re-assurances that all will be well....does fruit picking season end soon???

Is this PW renting out unsold apartments? I remember on a thread very very early on someone saying they had heard PW would transfer unsold properties to the local council- but surely thats a rumour.

Or,, is it someone who has bought it/them purely for this purpose? Anyone know (?) and yes it was reported on La Torre last year- although it was also rumoured they were moving terrace furniture around from close apartments and sitting around the pools until late at night.......always wondered if that bit was an urban myth.

Are they definitely fruitpickers, or could they be working on the golf course and/or Foro?  When a friend was renting our apartment in February, a guy in a PW van was driving round asking if people were interested in renting out to PW workers that were being brought in to finish work on the golf course. 

I suppose we won't know what they are doing if they can't engage in conversation - unless they come home with big bags of fruit which might give it away!

Just hope that this doesn't become a problem or impact on  the desirability of the resort. 

I went running round the course and definitely not Eastern Europeans working on the golf course...and coupled with the big box of oranges that they returned with.....

They should not be residing in Jardines then..........................................it should be Los Naranjos
