buses malage airport to sabinillas

hi i'm really struggling to hire a car to get from malaga to sabinillas, does anyone have any information as to my best way by public transport? There is a train from the airport to feungirolla bus station can i then get a bus from there to sabi? or am i better getting a bus from the airport to estepona then a taxi or bus from there?? Any help or information much appreciated!!!

We are having the same trouble, we are not going to hire a car this time, we come out on Thursday 9th April.

You get the bus outside the airport to Marbella bus station, it goes along the toll road, then a bus from Marbella to Estapona bus station, then you can either get the bus from there to Sabinillas or get a taxi along, this should work out a lot cheaper than getting a taxi from airport.

I know that there is a bus service from Fuengerola to Sabillinas but no idea of the times.

Did you try a car hire search engine called "doyouspain". I ve never had any difficulties getting a booking through them.

I use doyouspain, but with it being easter thats is why you won't get one, have you tried Hirecarinspain.com, they let you give it back full of petrol, never used them but will try them next time.

What time is your flight out and where are you flying from.

i am having the same problem trevor.    I cant believe i have not booked my car.   I always book it when i book flights.  Anyway, top and botom is i cannot get a car anywhere at the moment and i am in a mad panic.  Will go mad if i cant get one. 

I did the bus thing last year and to be honest, its ok if you are staying for a long time (we stayed all summer so it wasnt practical to pay for a hire car peak season for two months to be sat there most days), but it was a bit of a nightmare.  The first stretch from airport to marbella is fine.  Its the bus from marbella bus station to estepona. it takes hours, About 2 and stops every 10ft!!!!   we gave up and got a taxi from estepona.    As i say, its fine for a long visit but for a week or two its much easier with a car.

Wish i had bitten the bullet and booked for gib now and paid the extra... my own fault for being a tight wad ha ha but i saved about 400 pound flying to malaga

hey thanks for the advice!!! I've tried all the search engines and websites mentioned there's nothing, i come out thursday til the following tuesday...has anyone tried gettin the train from the airport to feungirola (the train station is very close to the bus station, just a short walk) then a bus to sabi or estepona then a cab?? also i've had a look on the web and there appears to be a bus direct from the airport to estepona (says it takes 2hours) then a cab??.. or with the marbella bus then a cab? guess it depends how much the cab is from marbella?? anyhow i'm in the last chance saloon and i've tried bruno's in the marina so will let you know how i go on.

There is a direct bus.  it runs only twice a day though , peak season.  It leaves around 10:15 am and around 2:15 (i think!!).  i cant remembe the actual times.   I know i always just missed it last time.   The bus to marbella is airconditioned and quick, however it fills really quickly so you have to get on it as soon as it arrives half an hour before it sets off and sit on it and wait or you wont get on.  There's always loads of people turned away and left to wait for the next one.  

I believe the train to fuengirola is great and very easy.  However its the buses from fuengirola onwards i think that pose the problem  there.  ~The lady on the tourist information at malaga airport was adamant that the best way was the marbella route by bus, but maybe she was on commission or having a laugh putting me on that bus for all those hrs  ha  

I also am having no luck getting a car either so i might be sat on the bus too trebor.    Good luck, its an adventure anyway  :-)

Record at malaga airport have cars at the moment.   i just had a quote to book one

checked with record on-line no cars!! thanks anyhow...

but i just booked one with them... recordrentacar....  not fifteen mins ago. did it direct though

i went through goggle right to there website, did you phone them direct?
