Hi villa owners,

We were told by Roda Golf when we completed our purchase (we have e-mails from them confirming it) that the buildings insurance for our villa was covered by the community charge. We queried this twice with Roda, as it is not the way it works in England.

We have just found out, over a year later by querrying it again with the Housing Communidades, that we are not covered and have to arrange our own private cover (apparently the apartments and semi-detached houses are covered).

Has anyone obtained any reasonable prices / cover ?

Les

Hi Les

I got our Insurance through the Bank I  took my mortgage with, although not the cheapest they responded very quickly

when we had a problem, so it makes up for the small premium.

Although not an expert I think you find all types of property from Villa to the Apartments need their own Insurance cover

perhaps somebody more clued up could let us no ?

Cheers

We have an apartment and I've used Intasure, found on the internet. They communicate in english, all documents are in understandable english, and importantly for some, provide cover for tenants, damage by tenants etc, which quite a few policies that we looked at didn't.

Hi

We also have a policy with Intasure...organised through Jennifer Cunningham Associates who are based in Los Alcazares. This is our second year with Intasure ...as Clare has said all the documentation is very clear, one of the great advantages being that they are based in the UK and contact is to a UK office.

Premium is very competitively priced too.
