Condado dates for golf & general info

To golf suite owners,       spoke to polaris today they said golf suites would be 18 months away from completion, they are also contacting owners to ask if they would like to purchase another property elsewhere on polaris but with no discount has anybody else been told this 

Hi there, we have a 40% deposit on a golf suite but have not been told it will be a further 18 months, last we were told was it would be ready in september/october 2009.  We are due to complete on our villa jana on 6th March, this friday so whilst I am there I will get a definite answer as I dont want to wait another 18 months with still no return on my money and theres still no guarantee that they will be built then with the economic climate, neither do I want to purchase on another polaris site.  I will be consulting my solicitor to find out my position.

Where did you get your info??? Is it official or heresay???

hopefully we will get a 'straight from the horses mouth answer' this next week as I will get my solicitor on the job!!!

Please accept my most humble apologies for my indiscretion in directing my last mail at the Gents only.   I can assure you all that it was a minor clerical error & will not be repeated.   

BTW........Whilst on my walk on Sunday morning I did bump into a group of ladies (06.30am) also walking the course.  Obviously they were getting used to the 2 allocated tee times reserved for the Ladies section........(Only joking!!)

I hope I am wrong to June, but the back 9 is still being landscaped in parts & seems months away from being playable.  Maybe a loop involving........1st, 2nd, 3rd, 18th, 10th, 11th,12th,16th & 9th is the thinking as these holes seem more advanced, but even those holes have no grass on the fairways.   Hopefully the greenkeeper will have a few red tee boxes for these holes!!

Not sure whether this is good news or not, but I have just been talking to a friend who stayed in one of our apartments last week.  During the week a man driving a Polaris World van  stopped and asked her whether she was an owner or renting.  He said he was looking for owners who were willing to rent their apartments out to workers - apparently they are bringing in a lot of workers to work on and finish the golf course and they are wanting to house them on the resort. 

Probably good news from the point of view of progress on the golf course but not so good based on the problems experienced on La Torre when owners started renting out their properties very cheaply to workers.  There were reports of noise, late night drinking, outdoor furniture being moved from apartments etc and the residents were generally very unhappy.  Not sure how bad it really was, but let's hope we don't have the same problems at Condado.

I really and truly hope that no-one on Condado goes down this route just to get a bit of cash.  I am also aware of the problems Debbie has mentioned.  Problems with noise, thefts and generally hellish repercussions of this.

I do remember this trouble on La Torre, but the trouble came from apartments being rented out to fruit pickers.  So lets hope that if apartments are to be rented out to Polaris workers they would be treated with more respect, and at a proper rate. 

I do hope it's correct that they are bringing in more workers to get the course finished cos that would be good news for everyone

Good to see the Ladies section is thriving!!     Can't wait for the battles to commence.   Regarding shots, I have never been shy of accepting those......from anyone - need all I can get !!     I was thinking you could use my back bedroom as a temp clubhouse, but looks like you need something bigger

I think the ladies section may be stronger than you think, I have 3 daughters one is a PGA Professional in training, one plays off 4 and the other one plays off 1 and is only 15 years old!! on top of that my wife plays off 9, so don`t be throwing out too many challenges Nick, as you could be getting your ass kicked!!!!!

PS With your great views from the balcony you will be able to watch the ladies play and get a few FREE tips!!

Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbiden

As The meerkats say.   Simples!!

The main thing is that we do get a course to play on. When we completed in November, there was a lot of activity on the Driving Range. Now it seems that things may have slowed down. I guess that PW want to open everything at the same time. Running a Driving Range requires some administration and may not be profitable. The reason that I do think PW will try and hurry the Golf Course completion is that firstly it will sell apartments. Secondly a semi-finished Golf Course draws a lot of maintenence cost and generates no income. I think PW are well aware of this.

We are coming for Easter and staying three weeks and I will walk the course and see if I can get some information. From what I have seen in November and on later pictures, it should be no problem completing the course this fall. It all depends on the manpower. PW are also using sod on the "hilly" parts of the course, this is very helpful. I actually thought they would use the same method for fairways. If not, fairways need some 8-10 weeks to grow in depending on temperature, grass type, irrigation and fertilizing. It would be a good idea to utilize the summer to grow grass. Longer days, more sun, better temperature etc. Still hope to tee off in October....
