Up to 50% of Car Hire Thursday 22nd January

I have received an email from holiday autos advertising that they are doing "up to" 50% discount on cars hired through them in Murcia this year . Having read through it briefly it appears this only applies to bookings made tomorrow (22nd Jan) and the vehicle has to be picked up at the airport.  I don't know how competitve the rate will be as I personally don't need car hire yet so haven't been shopping around. I don't work for them either and have never used them (though Joanne my wife used to work in travel and many customers did book with them). I thought I would share this as I know lots of people are visiting Condado now and if it saves people a few quid when we all need it most then it will have been worthwhile. if they are expensive and uncompetitive don't use them and I was only trying to be helpful.

I have looked at the link as we are going over 8th - 11th Feb but  car hire through the doyouspain website was only approx £27 for a ford focus and holiday autos was no where near that price  but maybe worth checking out on other dates.

Thanks for the tip......but the deal doesn't seem quite all that it's cracked up tp be.

Yesterday I got a quote for a Ford Focus for the 11 days I'm out in Aug and received a quote for £230. Today with the supposed 'Up to 50% discount' the same car for the same 11 days is now £192. A 17% discount!

Doyouspain car hire for the same period still comes out cheaper at £175 (although actually is 210E)

I think the opporative word here id UP to 50%. Certainly worth having a go though, other dates outside of School holiday dates may be discounted better.

Keep sharing the savings tips ......with the extra I've had to stump up for the apartment due to exchange rate all the savings I can make are welcome!!!!

So far you seem to be my closest neighbour, we are in Naranjos Jardine 1 N038, perhaps we'll meet up sometime.

We are going out on Sat for two weeks to finish off the apartment, yep real bummer about the exchange rate.

Just to let you know, I've booked my car from doyouspain and paid £120 for a Focus for 10 days from 28th April - 7th May. This includes a booster seat.

Other sites have all quoted £175 approx going up to £225.

Don't forget the fuel policy.   Get full - Return Empty.  You pay an additional charge for the fuel on arrival.  I was recently charged €72.00 for a full tank in a Citreon Berlingo!!
