NON RESIDENTS TAX'S

HI ALL OUR SOLICTOR PHONED FRIDAY WITH THE BILL FOR OUR NON RESIDENT'S TAX,S  42 EUROS EACH AND  1OOEUROS FOR HOLDING WILL AND SORTING OUT ALL PAPER WORK  SOUNDS CHEAP ANY ONE ELSE HAD A BILL

don't know about value aspect but I was under the impression that once a will was made it was held in a central respository in Spain, not by local solicitor?

Hola Mug,

Been here for eight years and have not once paid my Solicitor for our Wills. If I'm right I believe they are

supposed to be held in Madrid. We have our copy and they have another in Madrid. Should anything untoward

happen then I contact the Solicitor and they obtain the will from Madrid.

I would check this out if I were you.

Hello to all,  we paid 100 euros to the Notary for setting out our Spanish wills which included all the disbursments etc which I belive is par for the course we were also given a copy of the wills but understand the originals are kept by the authorities. I am interested to hear of the amount you paid for non resident tax Mug, as we were quoted about 540 euros between us with a further 200 euros for administration . Has anyone else been asked to pay this tax yet? We should like to hear if we are being misquoted before parting with any monies as our figures are very different from Mug's, look forward to your thoughts. Hi peter & Pam,

The tax in question is the wealth tax that everybody pay's yearly not a non resident tax, my lawyer tells me that this tax will be abolished soon but only for spanish residents to start with.

My contribution is quite high because I have only a small mortgage and as I only paid £93000 for my open my lawyer tells me I'v made too much money (can you believe) so I am charge 18% (I think) on the difference less the mortgage (I have owned my villa excactly one year)

Non resident tax or renta tax is something different and I have been told that the council tax could be two or more years away and we will be charged from day one, not good!!
