Hi, we have not exchanged dialouge before, I'm buying a ground floof at the front, my apartment is finished bar sanitery ware. Your news is quite depressing, still very much a waiting game. At least on this site we are all together.

Hi MikeB, it can get  depressing to read that nothing is still happening, but at least we are all in touch with each other, with this forum, so when  anyone goes over can leave us a little bit of info. There is always somone over, or ringing or e.mailing etc. Any news is better than the news we receive from Palmera...nothing! We are out there on the 23rd and will try to get over, going to meet Dave and his wife on the Saturday if we can. Will bring back any news ..if any!

Another year has slipped past and we are nearly into April already. The next excuse will be its too hot to work during summer. We just keep our fingers crossed that they get started before it get too hot. If we can get May and June out of them, we still may have it finished for end of Autumn?????!!!!!!!!

We have waited this long..... and aged so much!!

regards John and Trish

From all the posts and info from Palmera and Urbasa the truths the lies the delays etc my view now is that the developer simply ran out of cash to fund the building last January the builders were not paid so off they went. Now the Banks are refusing to increase funding for the development any further and are trying to force Urbasa into liquidation so they can claim the building and get their money back, I am very pessimistic now getting there this year, hope I am wrong, like everyone else keeping everything crossed.

Hi

This question may have been answered before but does anyone know what would happen if Urbassa did go into liquidation?  Would we lose all our money or would we be able to claim it back from someone.

I thought we (myself and my husband) checked at the start of the development that there was a bank guarantee so that if this situation did arise we would be covered and that the development would finish anyway.

I'm starting to get really worried now.  If it's delays due to builders, I can cope with that but if Urbasa are having to sell other properties to just fund the development of ours, this is very worrying.

Hi all really hope we dont lose all our money. Gosh, doesn't bare thinking about does it? To be honest we did not even know about Bank Guarantees until reading on the forum somewhere! Oops!   we were very niave when we bought  this.

Its a bit of a big mistake to have made not to check on bank guarantees. Guess we are not the first and wont be the last!

Oh dear!

That would be great Gabe.  Like your daughter I've been happy just ticking over too but it's now dawning on me that we could be in a bit of a mess without a leg to stand on.  It seems we have no-one to trust (apart from us who are in the same boat).  But the likes of Urbases or Palmera are not going to give us advise on what is in our best interest - they are only out for themselves. If it's going to cost them anything they are just going to back away.

Also, we (me and Arran) are not in a position to just materialise cash when they suddenly decide to summon us over to sign.  We need some notice to sort our finances out and arrange time off work etc.  It feels like they are going to make us wait years to finish the work then demand their money as soon as possible.

I don't know if everyone feels the same but it's like our lives are on hold waiting for something to happen.  I find it really hard to make plans for this year until we know what is happeing with the apartment.  People want us to go away with them in the summer and we just can't commit to anything because we don't know where we'll be.

Sorry for the rant, just had to get that off my chest. :)

Well if it's any consolation (although it is only hearsay). I asked Palmera at the time, all those years ago, about the bank guarantee, and they said that there was one. I did ask for this in writing, but never received it, hopefully this is just Palmera being Palmeira, and they forgot to send it. That may be a question to put to Palmera, next time someone rings up for a moan, which we all do from time to time (hehe), That of course is if you can get through, the last time i tried, it seemed that they were constantly engaged, i dunno why that would be. I wouldn't buy from them again.

So thats my 5cents worth, hope it's correct

Dave

Hi Sarah, we too need notice as we all do I guess, to get money together etc and time off. We just cant seem to do any more can we, our life (and money) is in their hands. Thats  what this site is for to have a good rant and moan as we are all in it together. Us poor soles!! Dont worry about going on.. we all do. Saves our marriages and friends being able to moan on here!!!

Gabe, thats handy, your son inlaw speaking Spanish. Hopefully he will be able to have a chat with someone in the know, if we can find out who to talk to?? We too have changed solicitors now and this new one also works for others of Amarion so knows of the builders, feel better for getting an independant solicitor now!

Keep ya chins up folks

John and Trish

If

urbasa did go bust and we have all  paid our deposits -  The building is still there 80 % done

they cant leave it like that surely - if they sell it on surely it goes with our contracts

I really cant see urbasa going bust tho look at there web site all the building projects they have going

they must have a few million pounds in amarion 111 alone

I cant see them wanting to lose that kind a money

You are right, its so frustrating that we can't pin them down though, surely one of our Spanish speakers could go to their offices.

just a little bit of positive info about Palmera - although this is almost  12 months ago - we are renting an apartment in Almoradi in June & the owners bought through Palmera - they haven't had any problems & they took them through all the notary stuff etc without any hitches - I think the building was late completing! but hey what's new in Spain, so hopefully this will all happen for us too when the time comes.

Hi all,

Just got back from Almoradi and altho. no building work going on, we did manage to get into our apartment for the first time ever (not easy, as it's on the 3rd floor!).  Some good news, or we thought so - the apartments are lovely!  We have a 3 bed, 2 bath apartment and the tiling is finished in both bathrooms, one is brown and cream and one is blue and cream.  Both really nicely done.  The kitchen is tiled, also very nice and our spiral staircase is fitted, even tho. it's completely rusty!  We were really pleased with the standard and even the internal walkways have suspended tiled ceilings, so all the pipes and wires are completely out of sight. The lift shafts look complete, with the exception of the lifts being fitted.  The concrete stairs are all in and there are windows in the stair ways, so they will be nice and light and airy.

There are a lot of building materials in the centre of the building, tiles etc. ready for when the building recommences and the pool area looked a good size and is in absolutely the right position.  We were there at midday and the pool was almost completely in the sunshine by then, so should warm up nice and quickly.

It does, however, look as tho.vandals have managed to get into the site as one of the front doors on the ground floor had been forced open with a crowbar and part of the balcony walkway blockwork on the 3rd floor had been pushed over into the area on the ground floor by the pool.

We did also go and see Laura, who really didn't tell us anything new or anything that none of you have already heard.  She was, however, quite keen to reassure us that we would be in our apartment for this summer. We thought for this to happen they'd have to start work almost immediately and have a very large team of builders on site!

My sister, who is currently driving back, also stumbled across the Grupo Urbasa office in Elche, quite accidently and chanced her luck, rung the doorbell and was admitted and someone came and spoke to her about our develpment.  Altho. they said almost the same as Laura, they did tell her that contractually they had to be finished by July.

Hopefully, when she gets back and we can work out the technology, she has some pictures of our apartment and the development, so we will try and get them loaded onto the site within the next week or so.

Having now managed to see our apartment, we are definetly all feeling more positive and will just try and wait patiently.  Almoradi is a beautiful place and I'm sure it will be all worth the wait.

Hi lajj, glad you managed to get in to see your apartment, it is very exciting ,isn't it! Not good news about someone breaking in though eh?

Nice to hear that the sun is on the pool, we all had our doubts about it!

Thanks for the info, look forward to your pictures!

Cheers John and Trish
