Hi,
Has anyone else got clients renting their apartment this week who are having trouble with the power supply? My clients - our very first ones! - were without any power/water for 13 hours last night and this was the second night this had happened. as you can imagine they are not very happy. At one point the whole complext went black. It seems to be happening at around tea time. I have emailed Caroline and am awaiting her reply.

Hi Lunn B

Yes I have just gone through the same problem with a client I have in our apartment.  I understand that today Oscar along with an engineer from the electric company have been investigating the problem but I do not know what the outcome is.

It has been suggested that we all contact our lawyers and also contact the developers lawyers Vicente & Otaolaurruchi Abogados highlighting the problem and discontent. The more people that complain then the sooner we may have a permanent supply.  It may be worth mentioning that without power the garage doors cannot be opened even problems with the main gate.  Can you imagine if you had to catch a flight back to the UK and unable to even get the car out of the garage.  I am not sure if the office on site will do much as I think Caroline is geting fed up with all the phone calls especially when it happens on a sunday.

Yes there are problems at La Hacienda from time and this time is the electricity, but they happen in other developments too as well as in private homes and hotels. They are inconvenient, but they are a fact of life and hopefully don’t happen too often. But please do not use this open forum to which everybody has access and tell the world about it. Otherwise your first renters will probably be your last.

Hi Everyone

Further to my post the other night I made a great mistake as regards the developers lawyers what I meant to type was Victor Sanchez the developers lawyers the name I actually typed was my own lawyers so please do not contact them as they will be very surprised if not upset.  Sorry for this put it down to a senior moment.

Hi,
It seems that for the moment the power problems have been resolved. Caroline replied promptly, I have to say, and told me some one from the electrical company was working on the problem. Having spoken to a number of people loss of power etc seems to be something that happens in Spain so perhaps I reacted rather quickly probably since it happened on the very day my first paying clients arrived. My son and partner have been there twice and we were there last week with no problems at all.  Am keeping my fingers tightly crossed now that everything will be fine.

Life in Spain is wonderful and living here at La Hacienda is the best. It is a wonderful, beautiful site. Spain doesn't run like the UK does and there is lots of "manana" going on.  I have lived on site for almost a year and this is the first time there has been this kind of problem. As far as I can tell, the problem has been dealt with now. As Vera said, the power can go off anywhere at any time. I am sure we have all been on holidays where services were cut off for one reason or another temporarily. Please don't forget that this is a fairly new complex and as such there will be teething problems.
Regarding the front gate and the garage doors, you can open both manually in case of power outages.
Let's all keep a positive attitude here.
Now if only the other hundred or so people who have bought but not completed would get on with completing their purchases .....

We had the most fabulous holiday, sadly only 4 days, in our apartment last week. The weather was fantastic, the views out of this world and just to be there relaxing for the first time ever was superb. We really didn't want to go home and can't wait to go over again although it will probably be October before we get a chance.  To anyone who is considering whether to complete - do it - you won't regret it I am sure.
