Hi everyone. We could really do with some advice! Two years ago we placed deposits on 3 apartments on the Los Olivos Development in Almeria. To do this we mortgaged our home. During this time we have had very little contact from the developer or indeed the agent involved ie Palmera Properties, infact the Agent who initially took our deposits has left the company. We have contacted Palmera who advise that the apartments will be completed for another 18 months and to sell our properties they will charge 6000 Euros for each one sold (gulp). I feel we have walked into this totally 'blind' and now need to start making our own preparations to sell. Having looked at this site regarding resales it would seem the market is flooded and has become a buyers paradise. Can anyone advise on how to get started. Many thanks!

Hi Alex, Suggest you look at the specific forum for Los Olivos and also the Shared Photos, from which you will see they are near completion (more like 3 months than 18). Many updates on progress there too.

Hello Alex,
I am invoved with a group of investors who are suing our own developer for extended delays and serious quality issues etc. It may be worth considering legal action against the developer for Breach of Contract? You would need to have your contract checked independantly by a specialist litigation lawyer. Also do you have a full bank guarantee in your posession. Its a very difficult market just now in southern spain with very little chance of selling off plan apartments unless they are very keenly priced! there are many newly completed apartments that are selling for much less than the developers original prices more than 2 years ago........
If you send me an email I'll try to help?
