Hi everybody. We,ve just been over to check out villa,s with veiw to re-locating in Spain. We searched Almeria and southern Costa Blanca area but found we liked what we saw in the north around Altea, Calpe and Moriara area. When we returned to UK we got a call from an agent who,s got a plot upon the hillside to the south of Calpe , over looking the bay, town, med , yacht club and rock. Is anyone familiar with this area or this development. Any info on whole area, spcific location in question, local builders or agents would be of great interest to us. We are thyinking of returning to inspect sight and need to research as much info as possible. Can anyone help us with this?. We believe the builder could be a Dutch company operating cheifly around the Yalon Valley area and the agents are UK based Zodiac Villa,s. Has anybody dealt with these companies before. Any feed back could be priceless. They do seem to be more proffessional than a lot of the Arthur Daley characters we found over there. Has anybody heard of any problems either with the hillside development on the south side of Calpe bay or in the whole area?. Whats it like to live in this area both in winter and summer?. _______________________ nick and dee browne

Hi guys I dont know anything specifically about the area but if you buy a plot to develop ensure it has all necessary licences to develop. Dont take the agents word (or anyone else who has personal involvment in the sale) for it. Ensure that any legal representative is completely independent of those involved in the sale. Check out my threads on lawyers in Spain.
Seem to recall a client trying to buy something already constructed through Zodiac Villas in that area at end 2005 but there was no Nota Simplé for the property available for the property which would mean it wasnt registered. I may be wrong about it being Zodiac and if you get the impression that they are very professional I am sure that you are right but I would recommend thorough research before jumping in with both feet. Marry in haste repent at leisure!

Hi again everyone,
Found out that development in Calpe is called Maryvilla, and others nearby are La Canuta, Canuta Baja and Canuta de Ilach. Does anyone have any info on any of these developments or know anyone whom lives there. Would like to talk to anyone who lives in area between Javea and Altea. Or even between Benidorm and Javea. One of main questions is whats rate of property tax in these areas, especially Calpe.Anything on these areas would be much appreciated.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everybody,
