You now need a National Short-Term Rental Registration Number to advertise—mandatory from 1 July 2025 and layered on top of any regional license.
You apply through the national one-stop digital portal, and that unique code must appear in every listing and booking flow.
It’s Spain’s implementation of the EU short-stay data rules so authorities can actually see who’s renting what, where, and when.
If you skip it, platforms can de-list you and authorities can sanction—treat the number like the property’s passport.
Separate duty still stands: traveller check-in reporting to police within 24 hours under RD 933/2021.
