SLINGBOX TV CONTROLLER.

HI.

HAS ANYBODY EVER USED A  SLINGBOX TV CONTROLLER IN SPAIN

IN ORDER TO GET THEIR UK  HOME CHANNELS I.E SKY AND OTHERS

ON THEIR SPANISH TV. SOMEONE TELLS ME HE OWNS A PROPERTY

IN SPAIN AND EVERY TIME HE HOLIDAYS AT HIS PLACE HE TAKES THE

BOX WITH HIM SETS IT UP AND CAN GET VERTUALLY ALL UK TV CHANNELS

HE GETS BACK IN THE UK WITHOUT EVER BUYING A SPANISH SUBSCRIPTION

IT CAN BE USED HE TELLS ME EVEN IF THE HOME TV IS SWITCHED OFF AT

THE MAINS. .HE SAYS U CAN GET THIS GADGET FROM AROUND  £125

ANYONE KNOWS OF THIS OR EVER USED ONE?

 Yes, I've used one but not in Spain.  I used it in America and the Caribbean and it worked fine.  You don't need to keep your TV on in UK as it works the Sky receiver, not the TV,.  It's simply a way of controlling the box via the internet so you need the internet on all the time you are using it.  If you have a low capactity internet connection you will get jerky signals.  It could also work out expensive unless you have unlimited downloads on your internet connection.  If you are sharing the box (that is, someone in UK is watching it as well as you)  you can only watch the channel that person is watching unless you have Sky +.  If not, when you change a channel it will also change the channel back in UK.
