Is there anyone on this site that can help us? We are trying to find a 1-bed apartment (not a studio)in Benalmadena, or close by, that we can rent from Saturday 22nd Sept until Saturday 6th October as it's proving to be harder than we anticipated to find one.
We have sent requests to a couple of possibilities on this site but, so far, have had no replies. We're wondering if some of the rentals here are no longer available as we never had a reply for one near Cuidad Quesada town either.
We have looked on Holiday Lettings and Owners Direct but, as usual, all the reasonably-priced properties are booked and the over-priced ones remain on the books (where they'll stay as far as we're concerned). We did find one place that's available but we thought the 300 euro deposit for possible breakages was over-the-top. I know this doesn't happen very often but, when my sister and her husband left a 100 euro breakages deposit with the couple they rented a property from in Heredades, Costa Blanca, they wouldn't return it! They gave all sorts of excuses to keep the money, all of them lies, and we have since found out that they do this regularly as they are having a hard time financially! Anyway, this is why we are nervous of leaving a breakages deposit. We do understand that there are renters out there who leave a place in an awful state, but we always look after each place we rent, clean it thorougly (leaving most cleaner than when we went in) and, if we DID accidentally break anything, we would either replace it or pay for it.
Anyway, if anyone has a rental place free for the time we want it or they know of anyone that can help, we'd be most grateful if you could let us know. THANKS!
