Endesa Bank Account

 Actually, it's not just Endesa, it's a habit of corporate Spain: no bank account on invoices.

So please let me ask: does anybody have a bank account number for Endesa?

If you need to know: I'm closing down my spanish bank account (don't ask) and Endesa is displeased.

Ok, some background.

As you can read here in older threads, Endesa expects (household)
customers to have a bank account in Spain and allow Endesa direct
debiting. Nothing else will do. And actually is not a big issue for
permanent residents.

In my case, I am not a resident but I had a Spanish bank account.
I just decided to close it down because my tolerance was exhausted.

What gives? An upcoming encounter in a court of law. And if anyone
knows any Endesa bank account in Spain, that will make my fight
easier.


 

Anybody who owns property in Spain has to have a spanish bank account  under spanish law resident or not.

 Endesa is the eletcricity company not a bank so dont have bank accounts just electricity accounts. You open any bank account , you can do this without being resident.and set up a direct debit for Endesa

I'm going to investigate but let me first mention my doubts.

I pay my property taxes once a year after receiving a reminder.
Direct debiting, i.e. a bank accoount, is not required.

Endesa is not arguing that I am obliged to have a bank account.
They say "We only do direct debiting, take it leave it". I say
"I will pay by transfer".

In a similar case, I discontinued my Telefonica landline and
stopped them from accessing my account. After I told them
I would need a bank account number to pay the balance, they
have not come back to me in one year! I still owe them.

My guess is that there is no obligation for owners of Spanish
property to keep a Spanish bank account.

As efrank said,  can you point us to the legislations which says that ?  I have searched on the internet and cannot find anything

Is there a legal obligation for a Spanish property owner to have a
Spanish bank account? No.

I browsed 10-15 sites offering property services and advice for Spain.
I asked a friend who works for a sizeable real estate agency in Gran
Canaria. I asked a friend's daughter who works for a Spanish bank.

All of them recommended a Spanish bank account for convenience. None of
them had ever heard of any such legal obligation.

My notar has not replied to my query by e-mail. But I do not need his
response any more.

Now please let's come back to my original query: does anybody here know
a Spanish account number for Endesa? In other words, has anybody here
ever paid to Endesa by transfer?

 You cannot pay Sevillana or Telefonica by transfer, impossible! They will never provide you with these details.  Either pay via direct debit or at the bank when bills arrive but if you are not here all the time obviously you cannot do this.

Telefonica bills can be paid at post office, all you need to do is go with your phone number and amount owed and ask to pay for it, the post office will put in their account but wont give out their details.

I know nothing about Sevillana. I know that I refuse to go to a bank
in Spain just to pay Telefonica on a mistery account. And they have
nicely folded their tail. Of course, I gave up on my land line. If you
want to keep it, you don't have my options.

Have you ever paid by transfer to Endesa? Do you know anybody who did?

1) Sevillana is a part of the old name for Sevillana-Endesa.

2) Payment of Endesa accounts is by Direcr Debit or online through endesaonline.com; it is necessary to open an online account to use this facility. These are the only two payment options.

3) If you wait long enough you will get a registered letter from Endesa whereby the only payment option is via Correos. This normally occurs when they are about to cut off power to your home or have already done so. It will not however detail the bank account number. This information is private, just as yours is.

At no point in time will any company disclose its bank account details as a matter of course. If you were running a business would you? It's just too liable to hacking.

This is not just a Spanish thing it applies equally in the UK. Even UK D/D payments do not disclose the bank account number of the recipient unless the recipient chooses to reveal the information.

It's not about disclosing all your accounts. It's about stating ONE account where an invoice can be paid.

All invoices in Germany carry a bank account, is hacking there worse than in Spain?

For your information, a bank account number is not an opportunity for hackers. Hacking on the net depends on URLs and server vulnerabilities. Forget the bank account and urban legends.

Payment to Endesa is by Direct Debit or online. These are the two payment options Endesa have chosen to adopt.

My question was and is: do you know any Spanish bank account number for Endesa? Please leave the legal fight to me.

 It seems, as ever, there are non so deaf as those who will not hear. If you dont understand all the answers you have received on here how will you carry out a legal fight?
